DeMarquis and Channon met in the city of Dallas in winter of 2016 when they came together for a mutual friend's birthday weekend. Shortly after, they kept in touch and both were very much interested in hanging out again. Channon lived in Birmingham, AL and DeMarquis lived in Russellville, AR, 7 hours from each other and agreed to meet at the halfway point in Memphis, TN to connect again. After dating for approximately 3 months, the relationship was made official when Channon asked DeMarquis to take that next step in June 2016 in Little Rock, AR. From there they dated long distance for 3 years and continued to connect regularly by traveling to different cities and countries for their numerous adventures domestic and abroad. During that time they learned a great deal about theirselves as a couple and were confident that the next step would be joining together in the same city. Coincidentally, Dallas was the most fitting choice and they decided that 2020 would be the year to make their move. They decided to make Dallas home with the purchase of their first home in December 2020. It was also December 2020 that Channon proposed to DeMarquis in the very first spot they visited together in the states, Palm Springs, CA. They have since added a fur baby, a miniature GoldenDoodle named Brandy, and she has been the perfect addition to their family. The couple is very much looking forward to taking the next step of marriage and building the Loyd-Davis legacy.
Channon & DeMarquis share a love of adventure and travel, so in the first year of dating they visited Palm Springs, CA, to celebrate Channon's birthday. They really enjoyed their vacation to Palm Springs that year with friends and vowed to return one day for another relaxing vacation. Well 4 years later they returned with more friends once again to celebrate Channon's birthday; or so, DeMarquis thought. On December 31, 2020, Channon, DeMarquis, and a close group of friends took a trip to see the Palm Springs sign as they did before on their previous trip. It was there at the base of Mount San Jacinto where Channon asked DeMarquis for his hand in marriage in a rather full circle moment to their very first trip together. DeMarquis accepted Channon's proposal, and the day turned out to be one of the best birthdays Channon has ever had!
