We met through the most millennial way possible (though John refuses to be called a millennial) -- online! I was then a graduate student in Yale and John was a local of New Haven. After two weeks of texting, we had our first date at Barcelona in Downtown New Haven. We went to two more bars afterwards and ended up spending over five hours together that night. Needless to say, we had a great time together and we started seeing each other regularly since then!

John was in Chicago to visit me for the weekend and flew in Friday night. He told me he wanted us to go to Lincoln Park at sunrise the next day to see the view of the city skyline. Unfortunately, we woke up late so we went to the park late morning instead. John picked a quiet area by the pond where it was just the two of us, brought out the ring, got down on one knee, and proposed! Of course I said 'yes!' We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Connecticut!
