Our ceremony and dinner will take place at Samari Spa Resort in Baños de Agua Santa. Afterwards, the celebration continues at Nalanda in Patate for our wedding rave. These are two different venues, so please allow for a transfer between them and check the Schedule and Travel pages for the latest event details.
From wedding vows to sunrise on the dance floor: our celebration at Nalanda is all about music, connection and dancing into a new day. Expect a rave-inspired wedding party with electronic music and plenty of energy, continuing until 8:00 a.m. the following morning. Come ready to celebrate, bring comfortable dancing shoes and a warm layer for the early hours. We cannot wait to share this night with you!
Only if you would love to! Whether you join us for a few dances or welcome the morning with us, we will be delighted to celebrate with you. Pace yourself, take breaks and arrange your return transport before the party. Please do not drive after drinking or a sleepless night. Earplugs are a useful addition if you are sensitive to loud music.
If you can, arrive a few days early to settle in and enjoy the waterfalls, walks and hot springs around Baños. Our party continues into Sunday morning, so we recommend keeping at least Sunday in Baños for rest and beginning your journey home on Monday. If you need to leave on Sunday, aim to depart Baños in the afternoon and leave generous time for the road transfer and airport check-in. Avoid booking an early Sunday flight.
Please plan to fly into Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO), our recommended international gateway for the wedding. From there, you will continue to Baños by road. Arrange your transfer in advance and allow extra time for traffic, weather and road conditions. If your flight arrives late, consider an overnight stay near the airport and travelling onwards in daylight. See our Travel page for more planning details.
Think fresh mountain air, green landscapes and weather that can change throughout the day. Baños can feel mild during the day and cooler after sunset, with rain possible even in February. Pack light layers, a rain jacket or small umbrella, comfortable shoes with good grip, sunscreen and a warmer layer for the overnight party. Bring swimwear if you would like to visit the thermal baths or your hotel's pool, and check the forecast shortly before travelling.
Baños sits at approximately 1,820 metres (5,970 feet), lower than Quito's city centre at around 2,850 metres (9,350 feet). You may notice the altitude more during a stay in Quito or on mountain excursions. Take it gently on arrival and avoid strenuous activity and alcohol during your first 48 hours at higher altitude. If you have a condition that could be affected by altitude, ask your clinician for advice before travelling. Seek medical advice if you feel unwell rather than pushing through symptoms.
Ecuador uses the US dollar (USD). If you are bringing US dollars, there is no need to exchange them into another local currency. Bring some small-denomination notes for smaller purchases, and check card acceptance with each business. Confirm any international transaction or withdrawal fees with your bank before travelling. Carry only the cash you need for the day and use ATMs in secure indoor locations.
Plan your transport in advance through your hotel or a reputable provider, especially at night. Keep valuables discreet, avoid walking alone in quiet areas after dark and ask your hotel for current local advice. For excursions, choose registered operators and request an English-speaking guide. Conditions can vary across Ecuador, so review your own government's current travel advice before booking and again before departure, including any destinations you add to your trip. Follow local guidance on weather, road closures and volcanic activity.
Samari is in Baños and Nalanda is in Patate, so please plan for road transport between the two. Check the Travel and Schedule pages for any confirmed wedding transport information before booking your own arrangements. If arranging a private driver, agree your pick-up location and return time in advance, including an earlier departure if you prefer. Please do not rely on finding a taxi at the venue in the early hours.
Entry requirements depend on your passport and itinerary. Before booking, check with the Ecuadorian consulate or official immigration authority for the requirements that apply to you, including passport validity, visas and any health documentation. Recheck before departure, particularly if you are travelling through other countries or extending your trip. Keep secure copies of your passport, bookings and travel insurance details.
We recommend arranging travel insurance for your trip, including medical care, cancellation and disruption cover. If you plan to try rafting, canyoning, zip-lining or other adventure activities, check that your policy specifically covers them. A travel-health consultation can also help you prepare for your individual itinerary, especially if you are adding the Amazon or other regions.
Spanish is Ecuador's main language, but you can prepare easily even if you do not speak it. Request English-speaking guides and drivers when booking, download an offline translation tool, and save your hotel and venue addresses on your phone. A few words of Spanish are always appreciated, and having your destination written down makes getting around simpler.
For an emergency in Ecuador, dial 911. Save your hotel's contact details and your insurer's assistance number before travelling, and keep your accommodation address available offline. If you need help during the celebration, alert the venue staff or wedding planning team immediately.
