Q + A

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

At this time, we are not able to accommodate children over the age of 1 (outside of immediately family in the wedding party). We chose to hold our celebration at a more intimate venue with limited capacity. Because of that, we hope you can enjoy the weekend kid free!

Question

Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be outdoors.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

San Miguel in May is beautiful! The average temperature during this time ranges from 80-92 degrees. Sometimes there is potential for rain, but if so, it will only last a few minutes. Overall the temperatures will be warm, but I always suggest packing a light jacket too because it gets breezy at night.

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

We know that time away from home and work is precious so we recommend making the most of your trip and staying as long as you can! With that being said, you can see most of San Miguel in 2-3 days. It's not near a beach though so if you're looking for water activities, we recommended visiting The Gruta hot springs.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP online by February 15, 2024

Question

Do I need a Covid test?

Answer

As of today, the US no longer requires a covid test when returning to the states. But with covid rules and regulations changing constantly, we will update this as it gets closer to the date.

Question

Passport

Answer

Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after the travel dates

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

San Miguel is a relatively small, dense town with narrow cobblestone streets so please pack comfortable walking shoes. Street parking and parking lots are limited. We recommend renting a car if you feel comfortable parking on narrow street or have a large group/family. There are also cabs are everywhere and very cheap! If you take a cab while in the city, make sure you use a green or white one (these are official). Also make sure to agree on a rate to your destination before accepting the ride. Don't forget though! You will need to book a car to take you from the airport to San Miguel and back. That's the only important ride to be aware of during your time here.

Question

Should I bring pesos?

Answer

We find it's much easier and faster to pay with pesos in San Miguel! The majority of places do accept credit cards though. American dollars can also be used at some retailers, math required. Please note that Mexican pesos and USD use the same $ symbol, so always clarify currency.

Question

Things to be aware of?

Answer

As stated before, San Miguel is a very clean and safe city! But when in Mexico just be aware to only drink bottled or filtered water. Do not eat uncooked meat or fish. Happy stomachs only! :)
