We reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center. It's a few miles away from our place, you can get there from the metro using two buses (lime or route 74) one of which also stops 6-7 minutes from our house (see travel page for details). There's a few restaurants, drink shops, bars, and a climbing wall that are all walkable in the Washingtonian Center (also called Rio or Crown). It's one of those newer (in the last 10-15 years) developments that builds a bunch of things around a man made lake with animal-shaped paddle boats. On the edge of that development, maybe a 10min walk from the hotel, is an excellent taco/burrito place (taco bar El Guero).
