Question

How do I get to Catalina Island?

Answer

You can get to Catalina Island by ferry from four mainland ports in Southern California - San Pedro, Long Beach, Dana Point, or Newport Beach and the ride is around 1 hour. You can book through either the Catalina Express or the Catalina Flyer. https://www.catalinaexpress.com/ - Long Beach, Dana Point, San Pedro http://www.catalinainfo.com/ - Newport **Make sure your ferry is going to and from AVALON not Two Harbors**

Question

How do I get around the island?

Answer

Avalon is less than a square mile. You will see that most people drive golf carts or walk but there are taxi services available if needed, please call (310) 510-0342.

Question

When will we be able to purchase ferry tickets?

Answer

The October Ferry schedule has been released! Please visit: https://www.catalinaexpress.com/schedule-fares.html to schedule and purchase your ferry tickets, or call Catalina Express Reservations with any questions 800-613-1212.

Question

Where should I stay? Hotel, Hamilton Cove or Airbnb?

Answer

Depends on how you want to spend your weekend! Make sure to check out the TRAVEL page for options given. Many boutique hotels, to the room block at Pavilion Hotel to more! Please note: Most rentals and hotels will require a 2 night stay minimum. The Pavilion Hotel & Hotel Atwater are in the center of town and walking distance to everything (about 0.5 miles from the ferry terminal and 0.5 miles to the wedding venue!). They offer wine and cheese hour most evenings and they have the typical hotel amenities like maid service and concierge. Nightly room rate will be less than Hamilton Cove and a two night minimum stay is required (Friday & Saturday). They also transfer your luggage from the terminal to the hotels! Hamilton Cove is a hillside of beautiful condos with expansive ocean views high above town. Rooms come with a golf cart since town is about 2 miles away. They have full kitchens and living rooms but no standard hotel services. It’s basically like an Airbnb, but will be one of the more expensive options due to their privacy and amazing views. Please note: Only guests that are on the rental leases are able to stay here - they are strict on no guest policy. Want us to take a look at a specific listing or property? Yes, please! We're here to help!

Question

How do I get to the wedding from where I'm staying?

Answer

It is a 10-15 minute (beautiful) walk from "downtown" where you'll most likely be staying, to the ceremony. Taxis are another easy option if you prefer to arrive on four wheels. Or make some friends at the welcome party and share a taxi. We will be providing transportation for guests after the wedding back to "downtown" to save those feet after a full night of dancing! If you are staying at Hamilton Cove or particular Airbnb's, your room comes with a golf cart. You may use that or call a taxi if you don’t want to drive at all!

Question

How close is the ceremony to reception?

Answer

Just steps away! Just walk across the lawn and up the stairs to the stunning Catherine's Terrace... maybe dip your toes in the ocean and on the beach just before!

Question

Is there a 2-night minimum stay?

Answer

Yes, most hotels and rentals will require a 2-night stay with the popularity of the island. If 2 nights does not work for you, there is always the option of a day trip as the ferry runs often. If you would like to leave later than scheduled ferry times, please contact Jordan and Abbey directly for possible accommodations back to the mainland.

Question

Is the Welcome Party open to everyone?

Answer

Yes! We will be meeting prior to the Welcome Party for a more intimate rehearsal, but we encourage all of our guests to mingle the evening before. Come enjoy dinner & drinks on us for the pre-wedding party!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We know everyone is traveling and we are opening up your invitation to the whole family! You are welcome to bring your kids, or enjoy a parents weekend getaway. We just ask that you define the number of guests in your party on your RSVP. Please note: Kids meals will be chicken tenders and fries (not noted on RSVP cards)

Question

Where is your registry?

Answer

We are so grateful and thankful that you are coming to celebrate with us for the weekend of love and festivities! Jordan and Abbey understand the investment of making the trip to Catalina is a gift in itself. Your presence is our present! Should you feel inclined to leave well wishes, we will have a card box upon arrival to the ceremony/reception.
