The owners, Jennifer and Jared Turner, are usually there. Sarah worked as a server and a line cook there for a few months during quarantine. Let them know Sarah says, Hello! They have great food, including steak, scallops, and salads, along with great selection of wine and cocktails.
If you're looking for a great selection of beers with a laid back atmosphere, it's a great place to kick your feet up, and maybe join in a game or two of corn hole, this is for you. Located just across the way from LBB Smokehouse.
A little history: It was originally a Foster's Freeze. However, the owner's wanted to branch out and bring real ingredients to make a really great burger. They also upped their milkshake game as well. The place may seem small, but there is never a time when there isn't a line crowded around the building.
Shop till you drop! Located in Roseville, about 40 minutes away from Forest House Lodge.
This is where the "fancy food" starts to kick in! It is a three-star restaurant. It's where Sarah introduced David to the finer things in life. The menu is always changing with a few staples. The cocktail menu is always on point with a variety of house made ingredients and adventurous flavors. Sarah worked there as a pastry chef while she went to culinary school. Trust us when we say, it is definitely well worth the price tag as well as the wait. The food is all made from scratch with the exception of the bread they bring to the table when you arrive. Make reservations at least a month in advance as they do fill up VERY quickly.
Hands down, some of the best pizza here in Roseville. It's really good when you eat it at the restaurant. if you are trying to eat well, gluten-free, or just don't want the carbs, get the stuffed peppers and Caesar salad. Great selection of beer and wine as well.
The storefront is located in downtown Sacramento in an inside market place next to a salon and wine bar, so it can be tricky to find. Great for a morning cappuccino and freshly baked croissant, as well as an assortment of tasty treats.
A large assortment of cakes, pies and a few brownies made from scratch. It's a place Sarah's parents would take them after going to a Broadway show at the downtown Sacramento Convention Center. Recommendation would be to eat the cakes at room temperature. It really does make a difference.
If you're really into Tiki drinks and Hawaiian food, this is the place to go! Located just a walk away from Rick's Dessert Diner, it carries the Tiki Bar theme all throughout from when you walk in the door, the decor, even the glasses the drinks come in. Try the Painkiller!
Listen, Mikuni Sushi is good, yes, however, THIS place is on another level. If you like a little spice in your life (not overwhelming), ask for the Oscar Roll. It's on their secret menu and it is outstanding! Get that along with the KRU Old Fashioned cocktail made with Japanese whiskey and chocolate bitters. Another Old Fashioned? There is a theme here....
Okay, this is one of the cooler places we've been to. They make their ramen IN HOUSE and the restaurant is UNDERGROUND! With it being a little cooler at night, this is a great place to go to warm up with all the ramen toppings any ramen connoisseur could want, along with different types of broth, you can't help but be happy eating it.
