Adorable restaurant and shop - do not miss it for breakfast or lunch! They have healthy options like smoothies and juices, as well as heartier breakfast options like pancakes and shakshuka and later they have great salads, fish, and pasta. They are also a design store where you can buy decorated dishes, glasses, ceramic cups, handicrafts and fabrics, all made in Italy!
Chez Black
Iconic maritime-themed trattoria with a beachfront terrace right on the main beach of Positano. Big and touristy, but a Positano classic. Great spot for people watching! Get the pizza for sure and request a seat in the front row.
Ristorante Da Adolfo
This shabby-chic shack on tiny Laurito Beach is the perfect place for a laid-back summer lunch. Be sure to get the mozzarella di bufala baked on lemon leaves and the grilled catch of the day dressed with oil, balsamic vinegar and mint. The local white wine is cold, refreshing and cheap – and if you overindulge, you can rent a sunbed and sleep it off. Make a reservation through your hotel to go to Da Adolfo. Walk over to the main pier and watch for a small open boat with a big red fish on the mast and the words ‘Da Adolfo’ written on the fish and they'll take you there, you can't miss it!
Ristorante Max
More popular among locals than tourists, it’s tucked away on a tiny alley off of the busy Via dei Mulini. This restaurant also serves as an art gallery, wine bar and cooking school. The interior is classy and the oil paintings filling the walls create a museum-like environment. In the summer, sit in the courtyard - its small size and lack of open view of the ocean (only a tiny glimpse) are compensated for by the super fresh seafood, intimate setting with candles and great selection of wine. P and I went here in September and LOVED the food.
Terrazza Celè
Located in Hotel Marincanto, Terrazza Celè is a quiet, romantic restaurant with an outside garden terrace overlooking the sea that has some of the best views in town. Add the incredible food and wine list and this is as elegant a restaurant as there is in Positano. Come here for a nice dinner or just for a drink!

Da Vincenzo is a small and adorable upscale, family-run restaurant in the heart of Positano. One of the most popular restaurants in Positano and always regarded as "one of the best meals on the Amalfi Coast", book in advance as they fill up quickly!

This sleek wine-bar and restaurant may look contemporary, but the food is firmly rooted in local traditions. Stalwarts such as pizzella fritta (a small, deep-fried pizza) and totani e patate alla Praianese (squid-and- potato stew) share the menu with more innovative dishes such as parmigiana di pesce bandiera, a fishy variation on the classic aubergine version. Homemade puddings are a treat, and the intelligent wine list covers all of Italy. The terrace, with its cocktail bar and regular live-music sessions, gets buzzy on summer evenings.

Zass at Il San Pietro di Positano
Overlooking Praiano and the coast, Il San Pietro’s Michelin starred restaurant is surrounded by a bright, Mediterranean atmosphere. Chef Alois Vanlangenaeker 's dishes recall contemporary paintings while seeking to maintain Italian gastronomic tradition. Many of the products used by his team of 32 cooks, come from Il San Pietro's vegetable garden or from local growers. Come here for a long, luxurious (and expensive) once-in-a-lifetime lunch.
La Sponda at Le Sirenuse
Michelin star La Sponda at Le Sirenuse hotel, under chef Matteo Temperini, is one of the top tables on the coast. It is also the most romantic, with dinner on the candlelit terrace accompanied by a couple of old-timers on mandolin and guitar. Temperini uses modern techniques to interpret local traditions, but his food (imperial prawns with lemon marmalade; risotto with courgette pesto and tuna roe) is never fussy, and the flavors are clean. Add a weighty wine list and exquisite service, and La Sponda is a winner.

Franco's Bar at Le Sirenuse
Aperitifs & cocktails on a stylish terrace with a neo-baroque fountain & extensive sea views. One of the most fabulous places you can have a drink in Positano. People line up to get in, so go right when they open or wait about an hour and a half to try and catch the second wave of seats.

One of the most original and beautiful clubs in the world! Built inside a cave with access from the Spiaggia Grande of Positano, Music on the Rocks is spread over two levels. The dance floor has massive arches overlooking the sea and the lights and live music create a magical atmosphere. Rada Restaurant upstairs is the perfect place to admire Positano in all its splendor before heading to the club for drinks and dancing!
Africana Famous Club
Famous nightclub in Praiano right around the corner from One Fire that has been around since the 60s when the Kennedy's would visit. It has an extraordinary cave setting (complete with natural blowholes), a mix of DJs and live music, plus a glass dance floor with fish swimming beneath your feet! Music ranges from disco to techno and hip-hop, drinks are pricey and the dress code is relaxed.
La Scogliera Positano

Path of the Gods Hike
Il Sentiero degli Dei or The Path of the Gods is a hiking trail with the best views of Positano. The trail starts in the mountains, so you get sweeping views of the amazingly blue Mediterranean and all of the seaside towns that dot the coast. The hiking trail takes about two to four hours to complete, depending on how often you take a break to soak in the incredible views. This hike has almost no shade, so make sure to start early so you’re not hiking in the heat of the day. If leaving from the village Bomerano, hiking the Path of the Gods is a pretty moderate hike as it is mostly downhill. The trail is about 4.7 miles (7.5 km) and descends about 500 meters. If you plan on starting this hike in Positano and ending in Bomerano, it means you’ll be ascending 500 meters, including a long set of steep stairs (about 1,800 in total!). This will make it a bit more difficult, but completely doable. Just make sure you bring water! There are signs for drinkable water along the trail.
Cooking Class at Hotel Buca di Bacco
This cooking class comes highly recommended in Positano! It starts at 3:30pm and lasts about 2 hours where you will cook in the kitchen at the hotel restaurant and then enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Mamma Agata Cooking Class - Ravello
Mamma Agata’s cooking course takes place in her private home situated high on a cliff top in Ravello, 1000 feet above the sea level. Mamma’s hidden treasure majestically overlooks the Amalfi Costline, with wonderful terraces and a spacious garden full of lemon trees, fruit trees, flowers, vegetables and poultry and she produces nearly all the food that she cooks for the school and the family!
La Taverna del Duca - Amalfi
This restaurant is ideal for an informal casual lunch after a lovely excursion in the area as well as for a romantic dinner with delicious courses and good prices.
Lo Smeraldino - Amalfi
This restaurant is located in the town of Amalfi, on the water. This is a casual venue with reasonable prices – great for pizza and seafood!
Da Giorgio - Capri
Casual restaurant, since 1948, Ristorante Da Giorgio has been known for its excellent local cuisine made with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, all served on the terrace overlooking the sea on warm island summer nights. Simplicity, Tradition, and Quality The menu at Da Giorgio is based on traditional recipes from Italy's island of Capri, made with the best ingredients and freshest local products each day. Da Giorgio is known for its excellent fish and seafood: Annamaria's grilled octopus is legendary on the island, as is the spaghetti "alla Giorgio", tossed with the most succulent morsels from the coast, including squid, shrimp, mussels, and clams.
La Fontelina Beach Club - Capri
Everybody who comes to Capri's La Fontelina agrees that it is one of the most beautiful beach clubs in Italy. Each day, chef Mario prepares a number of tempting off-menu treats, and fresh pasta served with flavorsome fish sauces and vegetables. Classic, all time favorites such as spaghetti with clams, fried paranza and seafood salad are never missing from the menu. Providing the perfect accompaniment to your meal, there is an excellent selection of wines and, of course, Fontelina's legendary iced sangria. In high season, they only accept reservations for 3 consecutive days, but you can call 24-48h in advance to see if they have availability!
Da Luigi Ai Faraglioni - Capri
Another beach club and restaurant in Capri that is perfect for a day trip. More low-key than La Fontelina but super chic and an easier reservation to get!
