Wedding party should arrive Thursday August 17th (so fly out of the US Wednesday night). All other guests, our first event will be a welcome party at a beach club in Praiano on Sunday August 20th so if you'd like to join us for that, I suggest arriving Saturday the 19th so you can get situated before events begin! As we mentioned in the Eat, Drink, Do tab, this is a good opportunity to fly into somewhere else in Italy (like Rome!) or even somewhere else in Europe to spend a few days elsewhere and then either take a quick flight or train to Naples from there.
I can only speak for summer 2022 travel, but it can definitely be a little chaotic! Here are some tips: 1) Make sure your passport is still valid for 6 months past your last day in Europe 2) Do not book a connecting flight with less than a 1.5-2h layover - you will have to go through customs (and potentially through a security check again!) before being able to go to your gate for your next flight. so plan for that! 3) On that note, we HIGHLY recommend planning to arrive in Naples one day before you need to be there and do not plan anything for your day / evening of arrival that you have to pre-pay for or will be devastated to miss so you can go with the flow 4) Book transportation from Naples to Positano in advance and carpool with other people if you can! 5) Get AirTags and put them in checked luggage and keep your most important items in your carry-on (medication, outfit for the wedding, a bathing suit, makeup, toothbrush, etc.) 6) Some airports in Europe (especially London Heathrow!) are brutally strict about liquid restrictions -- check your liquids when you can!
Please RSVP by June 1st! You can respond right here on our website to keep things easy. If you know you won't be able to come before we send out official invitations, feel free to text us and let us know.
Black Tie Optional - think Italian chic! For gentlemen, groomsmen will be in tuxedos, but either tuxes or suits are fine for guests! For girls, any dress length is great - mini, midi, or long. The more colorful the better! Our ceremony, dinner, and reception will all take place outdoors, but will primarily be on tile / pavement so don't worry too much about footwear for that reason (won't be on dirt / grass / gravel) BUT to get to the villa, you have to climb some stairs (like a lot of stairs - sorry!) so take me seriously when I say wear flip flops and carry your heels and put them on when you get there!
August in Positano is beautiful - it will be around 80º and sunny with the sun rising around 6:15am and setting around 8pm. Plan for hot weather and bring your shorts and t shirts, sundresses, bathing suits, cover ups, hats, and sunglasses! As you can probably tell from pictures, Positano is a city on a hill with tons of stairs everywhere, so plan your footwear accordingly. I would highly recommend wearing flat sandals or little sneakers for most of your daily activities and save the heels for dinner / nighttime (if at all!). Girls, I would bring a pair of sandals with you to the wedding so you can change out of heels if you want to later!
To give you the most flexibility for your travels, we have not set up a room block. Check out our Travel & Accommodations tab for our hotel recommendations, and don't miss the Eat, Drink, Do tab for our restaurant and activities recs. Feel free to text Cassidy with any specific questions though!
