Quite simply, one of the best meals you’ll have. Not just in Maine, but in general. Great for breakfast or lunch, this diner is literally just a trolley car converted into a 12-seat diner. A simple menu, where depending on what time you go they may have sold out for the day, and made with tons of flavor and care. Cash only (there’s an ATM right outside if you forget!) and typically very popular. Get there early or be prepared to wait a bit (although it shouldn’t be as busy during the fall, but you never know.)
The flagship store of L.L. Bean is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! Get some shopping done, get a picture in front of a giant Bean Boot, and marvel at the extremely fancy McDonald’s a few buildings down the street (seriously, it’s basically a house with a McDonald’s in it)! Fun fact: until the Covid-19 pandemic, the doors to the store had no locks since they never closed!
Like beer? Then this is the place for you! Seriously, they have a menu that is bonkers, good food, and an extensive cellar of beers from around the world. Remember: Portland, ME is essentially *the* beer capital in the US. You can also check out Bissell Brothers, Allagash, Oxbow, Banded (their OG location is in Biddeford).
Did you know that Kennebunkport is *mostly* famous for being the place where Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush would vacation in the summer (they even reference it in the Simpsons)? Well, it’s true. Kinda random, but there you have it. Take a quick trip to check out their compound, Walker’s Point, and while you’re at it, enjoy a great ocean view drive along Ocean Avenue.
If you’re a fan of beer and beautiful spaces, this is a must visit. Treehouse is known amongst beer nerds as making some of the best beer in the country, and they just opened up this new location about 30 minutes outside of Boston. Highly recommend! NOTE: At the time of posting this, this location is not opened yet with plans to open in “Autumn 2022.” If you still want to visit and it’s not open yet by the time you visit Maine, the Charlton, MA flagship location is another option, but a bit further outside of Boston. You can get to it at the following address: 129 Sturbridge Rd. Charlton, MA 01507
"Where do you go for the best lobster roll?" We know we're going to get this question a lot, and honestly, most places are going to be pretty fire 🔥🦞 You're in Maine! Live it up and just start shoveling lobstah rolls into your GD mouth. We've included a food truck in Kennebunk that's always been v solid, but we have yet to meet a lobster roll we didn't like.
