Blue Bell Creameries – A Texas Must If you know Texas, you know Blue Bell. And if you know Mikaela and Casey… you definitely know Blue Bell. It’s basically a food group in their house. Mikaela eats way more ice cream than any doctor would approve of, and every now and then she even convinces Casey to grab a bowl with her. You’ll also catch them sharing a scoop at Astros games—because nothing pairs better with baseball than Blue Bell. If you stop by the Creamery, try some of their favorites: Cookie Dough, Cookie Two Step, Cookies ’n Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip. Trust us… it’s worth the trip. 🍦💙
Chappell Hill Sausage is basically a staple in the Calami household. Mikaela has been eating Chappell Hill Sausage for as long as she can remember, and now Casey loves it just as much. And of course, you have to stop at this location — it’s practically a tradition, it’s right on the way, and honestly, it has the best smell ever. Like, walk-in-the-door-and-instantly-hungry kind of smell.
Truth BBQ is an absolute must-try — nothing there is bad. Well… except maybe the pounds you gain a few days later from eating everything in sight, but trust us, it’s totally worth it. It’s our favorite spot to grab a bite before heading to the venue. The Calami's actually discovered this place years ago while showing lambs — they’d stop here, lambs in tow, on their way to visit their breeder. Now it’s become one of Casey’s all-time favorite places to eat, along with everyone else we drag along for the ride. And Casey’s favorite part? The free beer. Enough said.
