Growing up, she was Carys's number one playmate (and guinea pig) in all of Carys's made up games, and over the years dutifully played the various roles of Hogwarts student, balance beam trainee (at Carys's "balance school," of course), horse trainer (horses were cushions), dog trainer (dogs were made of paper), camper ("Camp Carys"), and countless others. Tyler and Dan have been best friends since age 3, when their older sisters both took guitar lessons from Tyler's dad. Since then, they've teamed up on everything from running the pool snack bar to hosting massive football tailgates. They were together in school from Cresthaven Elementary to the University of Miami. Tyler now lives in Sydney, Australia, where he runs the marketing team for a booze delivery startup. Libby and Carys got off to a slow start, when Carys had the nerve to beat Libby in an elementary school jump-roping contest, and then in middle school got a top locker near Libby's bottom locker. But their friendship only grew from there, and together Libby and Carys have tackled (or at least attempted) great feats, such as baking pavlova and trekking across the southern island of New Zealand. Libby is a dedicated and adoring cat-mom to Stuart and Mobin. Joey and Dan have been fast friends since being in the same fraternity pledge class at the University of Miami 15 years ago. They lived together in room 9 of the frat house before moving on to found "house 9" in Coconut Grove their senior year. Joey is a huge Cubs fan, so they've tried to at least see each other for one Cubs-Nationals series in recent years. James and Dan survived hell week together as fraternity pledges at the University of Miami, and have been friends ever since. They did Spring Break together multiple times, visiting the Bahamas as well as James's home stomping grounds of Denver, Boulder, and Vail, Colorado. Dan and James enjoyed a recent trip back to South Florida to watch the Hurricanes stomp then-3rd-ranked Notre Dame. Percy is a sweet angel dog who can do no wrong. He joined the family in June 2020 and has brightened every day since. He originally hails from Mississippi but has embraced DC life with vigor. He enjoys long walks in the Congressional cemetery and rooting for the Nationals.
