We met first semester of our junior (Julia) and senior (Chris) years at W&L in our small Marketing elective class. Chris had actually registered for the same class and withdrew two times before we ended up in the section together! We sat across the aisle from each other and I passed Chris the attendance sheet at the beginning of each class. We realized quickly we had a lot of mutual friends and our sorority and fraternity were really close; we just somehow had never met until that class. Chris got my number from a friend and texted me about our mid-term, asking a question I knew he probably already had the answer to. We have talked every day since that first text!

Chris proposed on our 4th dating anniversary at my family's neighborhood boat landing & clubhouse, Hobcaw Yacht Club. I grew up at the pool and playground at HYC and have celebrated a lot of milestones there, so getting engaged in the same park on the water where I ran around as a kid felt really full circle! Chris planned for both of our immediate families to be there to surprise me! It was so sweet to have our parents, siblings, and my grandparents and aunt there for us. We ate dinner and celebrated together and soaked it all in!
