Ben and I met working as a Pharmacy Intern and a Milieu Therapist, respectively, on floor 11 of Western Psychiatric Hospital. We shared our first date at Lorelei, a cute German Biergarten and Bar in East Liberty, on March 5th, Ben's birthday! Not long after, the pandemic hit, which allowed for us to spend all of our time together by way of quarantine-- you can really get to know someone fast in that very unique circumstance! We fell in love very quickly and easily, and a huge tenant of our relationship became travel to national parks. Before we even got engaged, we had visited 11 together (Arches, Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Grand Canyon, Saguaro, Shenandoah, Olympic, Mt Rainier, North Cascades, and Acadia) as well as had taken trips to Florida, Chautauqua, Michigan, Ohio, Utah, Washington, DC, Arizona, and West Virginia! We have traveled all over, but Pittsburgh is our home (Hail to Pitt!) and where we grew our lives together, so it was important to us that we get married here. Ben proposed at the Mattress Factory Art Museum, one of the few date spots we went to before the pandemic hit, and had his sister Lily document the whole thing. It was a beautiful day with lots of love and happy tears, as we are looking forward to our wedding being!
