Unfortunately, no. This is a no kiddo shindig!
Yes. There is meter parking in the parking lot behind Luce. There is parking in the Market Street and Water Street Garages; The first hour is free and then it's $1 per half hour. There is also meter parking that you can pay for right across from Bang! and Rose Jean. There is a lower lot you can park in as well which is right across from the Water Street Garage just make sure you pay correctly and get a confirmation or you will get towed they do not mess around. We avoid parking there at all costs but I just want you to know that it is available and you have been warned! Depending on how close you are staying you might be able to just walk or even take an Uber. As always, let us know if you have questions.
The students will be gone as UVA's graduation is mid May. As of right now (January) there are not any big events going on in the area that we are aware of - Check back for updates!
I would try to fly into the Charlottesville airport if you can that way you are already here and it's only about a 23 minute drive from the airport to Downtown. You could also fly into the Richmond airport and then drive to Charlottesville, though that would be about an hour drive. Another option would be to fly into Dulles International Airport and then drive two hours to Charlottesville. If you have questions, let us know!
I'd probably try to stay as close to Downtown as possible. It's not too rowdy in Downtown Charlottesville so noise and things like that shouldn't be an issue. Southstreet Inn or the Omni could be good options. People love staying at the Quirk. We somehow have never been but that could be a fun place to stay. If so, you would probably want to Uber downtown if you stayed there. There are also probably lots of airbnbs that wouldn't be Downtown but would be be like a 5 minute Uber ride downtown. We live off of Meade Avenue and are 3 minutes away from the Downtown mall.
