On Saturday, December 30th, 2023 Caroline and Travis had their courthouse elopement and got legally married by Charlottesville’s sweetest Sheriff, Mr. Captain Marshall. Just the two of them and their beloved corgis, Joey Pickles (smiley boy wearing tux) and Stuart Little (smiley bow tie boy). An intimate ceremony together meant they could be in the moment, no distractions, just the two of them. After a sweet and intimate ceremony, the two celebrated on a beautiful winter afternoon in Court Square in Downtown Charlottesville. Together they shared moments of love, a few tears, and lots of laughter while popping champagne. A weekend of playing chess, moseying around the Christmas tree, lounging around the spa, and doing some hoity toity things at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs , Virginia followed for New Year’s. It just so happened that their wedding band was playing at the New Year’s Eve Gala – such a fun surprise!! Tearing up the ball room, black tie dress code, dancing, and singing to Sweet Caroline – It was essentially a dress rehearsal. Flashback, New Years, 6 years prior… Travis showed up to the third date at Ziggy’s (Caroline’s dog sitting house) with some cold medicine (for sick Caroline), Emergen-C in hand, wearing his jammies and slippers; the rest is history. The last six years have been filled with many incredible adventures, like going to Greece, getting their first doggy together (Joey Pickles), restaurants, house projects, adding Stewie Little to the family, getting an MPH, and keeping Charlottesville sweaty teaching yoga and Pilates classes. They also had the amazing opportunity to go on a Spontaneous trip to France with Vincent this summer. Though the last six years have been extremely exciting, they would be lying if they said there haven’t been challenging times too. Together the two have navigated family issues, opening restaurants, COVID-19, changing schedules, co-parenting two spunky floofs, Stuart having behavioral issues, an emergency appendectomy, slow seasons of business, and navigated challenges that came up in their own relationship. When it’s all said and done, the sweetest part is that regardless of what is going on in their lives, or between the two of them, the one thing they love most is that they always have their love and commitment to one another at the end of the day, and thats what really matters. To each and every one of you - Thank you all for the roles you have played and continue to play in each of our lives. We would not be who we are as individuals OR as a couple without those in our lives. You have had an impact! We are genuinely so grateful for each and every one of you. We look forward to celebrating with our friends and family in June! Cheers! Caroline and Travis
