Mill Creek Resort is one of the best-kept secrets in all of Northern California. It is completely surrounded by Lassen National Forest with Mill Creek as it's boundary to the south. Take a short steep trail from the campground to take a dip in the creek or fish in its cool waters. Lassen Volcanic National Park is the birthplace of the Mill Creek namesake and the unique geothermal and volcanic activity of Lassen has been drawing people here for thousands of years. Lake Almanor to the east is a 1.3 million acre reservoir that’s popular with water-skiers and fishermen alike.
Mill Creek: Mill Creek runs along the east side of the property can be accessed from the short steep trail that begins between campsites 13 and glamping site 20 in our lower campground. You can also access Mill Creek across from Camp Tehama on Hwy 172. Lake Almanor: A large reservoir 35 miles east in Chester and provides many miles of shoreline to launch your kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Battle Creek: Has easy-to-access swimming holes and a waterfall to discover as a bonus! The North Fork of Battle Creek can be accessed from Forest Service road 140A and Battle Creek Campground, both a few miles west of Mineral. Blue Lake: From Highway 36 (across from Battle Creek Campground), take unpaved FS 17 road (30N17) approximately 9.5 miles to the trailhead on the right of the road. Blue Lake offers its waters for you to cool off in after the short, yet moderate, hike to get there.
Take a scenic drive and stop at the many viewpoints and explore any of 150 miles of hiking trails. Learn about Lassen’s volcanic activity; past and present. See bubbling mud pots, steam vents, warm spring-fed streams, snow-covered peaks, and sapphire blue and emerald green high lakes that breathtakingly beautiful.
