FAQs

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone the opportunity to relax and fully enjoy the evening with us. Thank you so much for understanding.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

Mill Creek Resort is located on Hwy 172, off Hwy 36, about halfway between Red Bluff and Susanville.

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

While there is no formal dress code, we're thinking semi formal/casual vibes! We want you to feel cozy as heck but maybe a little elevated! Please note that parts of the venue include uneven ground. For comfort, we recommend flats, wedges, or chunky heels. In late August, daytime temperatures are typically in the high 70s to high 80s, with evenings cooling down to the mid 50s to low 60s. We suggest bringing a wrap, sweater, or light jacket to stay comfortable after sunset.

Question

Is there parking at the site if I am not staying at Mill Creek?

Answer

Parking at the resort is very limited, so we kindly encourage guests to carpool whenever possible. Please note that Uber and Lyft are not available in this area, so plan transportation accordingly.

Question

Is there a restaurant or camp store on site at Mill Creek Resort?

Answer

While there is no restaurant or camp store directly on site, there are a few options nearby. Highlands Ranch Resort, about 10 minutes from Mill Creek Resort, features an elevated dining experience with breakfast, lunch, and dinner available in a beautiful setting. Just across the street from Highlands Ranch, Frank’s Bistro is open from 8am–8pm and serves casual favorites like burgers, sandwiches, and a variety of breakfast options. Mineral Lodge, located about 10-15 minutes away, offers hearty, rustic fare in a classic mountain setting. The restaurant serves burgers, fresh options, and local brews, and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you’re up for a 30-minute drive, the town of Chester offers even more choices. One of our favorites is Cravings, a cozy mom-and-pop spot known for its fantastic scratch-made breakfast and lunch. It also has a bookstore attached, making it a fun and unique place to visit.

Question

Where’s the nearest town for services?

Answer

Chester is located 25 miles east where you will find full services such as a grocery store, hospital, and many gas stations, restaurants, and banks.

Question

Is there cell phone service or Wi-Fi available at the resort?

Answer

There is spotty cell phone service around the property, with AT&T having the best coverage. We do not have Wi-Fi at the resort. There are a few businesses in Chester that offer free Wi-Fi access.

Question

Is the water drinkable?

Answer

Yes! Every drop from the spigots in the campground, the faucets located in the RV park, bathhouse, and cabins, are potable.

Question

Is there creek access at the resort?

Answer

Yes, there is a short but steep trail to the creek located behind campsite 13.

Question

Are there bears?!

Answer

Yes and no. Bears do not pose a huge threat to guests, although there have been sightings and evidence of bears in Mill Creek over the years. To be cautious and not teach the bears where to score a free meal, we suggest that food be kept out of their reach when left unattended. They tend to be reclusive and scared of people and we want to keep it that way.

Question

Can I have a campfire?

Answer

Absolutely! Mill Creek Resort provides fire pits in all of the campsites and cabins. Wood is for sale at the resort for $10/bundle. For obvious safety reasons, policy requires that campfires are put out cold before being left unattended.
