Back in 2018, amongst arcade games, karaoke and grapes, Kyle was first introduced to Carly at a NYE party and knew there was something special about her. Carly was an avid rec tennis player, and they connected over their mutual love of the game. Kyle saw an opportunity to keep the conversation going after that party by talking about how he could get back into the game. The two soon found that they had a lot more in common such as cooking, travel, wine, and the outdoors (albeit Kyle much less intensely than Carly). Kyle secretly had a huge crush on Carly and had been chasing her for months, waiting for the right time, until Carly was finally the one to ask, "should we be dating?". Soon after, the two began to date and never looked back. They made it through all the ups and downs of the pandemic together and were grateful to have had each other while being so far away from their families. Carly also quelled Kyle's fear of dogs by introducing him to her dog Bates. Kyle has fully adopted his dog dad duties. Kyle and Bates are now the best of friends. As they approached their second anniversary, Kyle was sure Carly was the one and began to put plans in motion to propose to her. Thinking they were heading out to an adidas Christmas party, Carly showered for the first time that week and dressed up. As they were about to leave, Kyle dropped down on one knee and popped the question! She said yes, and the two were finally engaged. The days that followed were filled with celebration including dinner at Piazza Italia, their first date locale; and, of course, more tennis! The two can't wait to celebrate with all their friends and family in Oregon!
