Travel Note
Since the wedding is located in a beach town and many of the local places to stay are smaller and varied, we decided not to commit to a hotel block. Instead, we are making suggestions of different places for all types of hotel preferences and budgets. Our suggestions are presented in no particular order. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Hotel
This is undoubtedly the most convenient location. The wedding and reception will be at the Madison Beach Hotel and the welcome event the night before is a short 10-minute drive. The hotel is small (fewer than 30 rooms), and thus they would only set aside a few rooms for our wedding. Please reach out to Kevin or me if you are interested in staying at the Madison Beach Hotel, and we will facilitate the reservations so long as rooms are still available. The hotel is only reserving the rooms until July 4, so please let us know before that date if you want to stay at Madison Beach Hotel. This is the priciest of the local accommodations (about $550 a night with the wedding discount). For those of you who are Hilton members, this is a Hilton property.
Hotel
If you like a true New England country inn, bed and breakfast style, this is a great option, located in Westbrook, CT! The Captain Stannard House has a welcoming and cozy vibe with a large porch and rocking chairs. People who choose to stay here will get a full two-course homemade breakfast in the morning. It is less than a 15-minute drive from the inn to the wedding festivities. The Captain Stannard House only has ten rooms, so we recommend booking early if you are interested in staying here! Note that a two-night stay is required, although the innkeeper will consider a one-night stay on Sunday night based on availability (when you call the inn, let them know you are a guest at our wedding). Additionally, this inn does not have rooms on the first floor and there is no elevator, so access to the rooms requires guests to go up and down a staircase.
Hotel
New Haven, Connecticut is only a 25-minute drive from the wedding location. The Omni Hotel is located in downtown New Haven, in the midst of Yale University’s campus and blocks away from some of the best pizza you will ever eat (we recommend Modern Apizza or Bar)!
Hotel
If you are interested in staying in New Haven in the same general area as the Omni, but prefer a smaller, more boutique-like hotel, The Study is a great option! The moment you leave the hotel, you are steps from wonderful shopping and restaurants. Like the Omni, it is a quick 25-minute drive to the wedding.
Hotel
The Holiday Inn Express in Branford is only a 15-minute drive to all wedding events! This is a great, affordable option.
Hotel
This is a restaurant and bar across the street from the Madison Beach Hotel that has some rooms attached that can be found and rented through Air BnB. These are not fancy accommodations, but they are conveniently located for the wedding, affordable, and steps away from the beach! You can find these accommodations on Air BnB by googling “Cristy’s Air BnB.” Be aware that the rooms are located above the bar and are accessed via a staircase in the bar.
Hotel
This location is great for those interested in spending time at the Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Village shopping, and, yes, even Mystic Pizza. This Marriott is a 35-minute drive to the wedding events.
House Or Rental
A variety of other options in the Madison area are also available via Air BnB.
Flight
If you will be flying to join us, we recommend flying into either Bradley International Airport outside of Hartford, Connecticut or T.F. Green Airport outside of Providence, Rhode Island. It takes about an hour to drive from either airport to Madison.
