This historic city—the capital of Querétaro and just 45 minutes from the venue—holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where Maria’s parents met and fell in love, and where centuries of history and romance linger in every stone. Querétaro is considered one of the birthplaces of Mexican independence. Its most iconic landmark, “Los Arcos”, is an 18th-century aqueduct that gracefully stretches across the skyline—one of the largest in Mexico. Legend has it the aqueduct was born from unrequited love. The Marquis, hopelessly devoted to Sor Marcela, a nun from the Convent of Santa Cruz, knew he could never be with her. In a grand gesture of devotion, he commissioned the aqueduct to bring water to her convent—and to the entire city—as a way to feel forever connected to her from afar.
