FAQs

Question

IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL?

Answer

WE KNOW THERE HAS BEEN RECENT NEWS COVERAGE ABOUT CARTEL ACTIVITY IN PARTS OF MEXICO. OUR WEDDING IS TAKING PLACE IN A DIFFERENT REGION, FAR FROM THOSE AREAS, IN A WELL-ESTABLISHED DESTINATION THAT WELCOMES VISITORS SAFELY EVERY DAY. WE’VE BEEN CLOSELY FOLLOWING OFFICIAL TRAVEL GUIDANCE AND FEEL COMPLETELY CONFIDENT IN CELEBRATING THERE, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE SITUATION. YOUR COMFORT MEANS SO MUCH TO US — PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Querétaro International Airport (QRO) since it's the closest to the venue. Mexico City (CDMX) is an option if you’re planning to explore, but it’s about a 3-hour drive.

Question

How do I get from the airport to the venue?

Answer

We’ll share detailed transportation options closer to the date, including shuttle services, rental cars, and reliable taxi or ride-share options. If you are unsure about anything, please contact the bride.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! A valid passport is required to enter Mexico.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Mexico?

Answer

U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need a visa for tourist visits under 180 days. You’ll just fill out a tourist card (FMM) upon arrival.

Question

How long should I say I’m staying when I arrive?

Answer

We recommend adding extra days to your planned stay when asked at customs—just in case of any travel delays or changes.

Question

Can I use U.S. dollars, or do I need pesos?

Answer

Both are accepted in some places, but we recommend having pesos for taxis, tips, and small shops. ATMs are widely available.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire. We kindly ask guests to dress as they would for an elegant evening—suits and ties, gowns, or formal dresses are all appropriate. While the dress code is formal, the bride and groom would love to see guests embrace bright, festive colors in the spirit of celebrating in Mexico. Think bold hues, joyful patterns, and vibrant tones. Keep in mind that the weather is warm and temperate during the day but cools off in the evening.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all of your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration.

Question

When should I arrive and depart?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least a day before the wedding (if not earlier) to settle in and account for any travel hiccups. If you can, stay a day or two after to fully enjoy the area!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Lightweight clothes for the day, something warmer for the evenings, comfortable shoes for cobblestone streets (if applicable), swimwear, sunscreen, bug spray, and an outfit for each wedding event. Don’t forget your passport and a copy of it in case of emergencies.

Question

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know about any dietary restrictions when you RSVP, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Question

I need to change my RSVP. Who should I contact?

Answer

For U.S. travelers, please contact the bride. Mexican friends and family, please contact the wedding planner directly (Catherina - +52 442 270 3075), or notify the bride of any adjustments to your RSVP.

Question

Will there be a hotel block/information?

Answer

The hotels on the travel page have more than enough room to accommodate all of our guests! We recommend booking online through Expedia or a similar site.
