How We Met

We officially met at church back in April 2017. That day, I needed help with something and Caleb stepped in. Somehow that moment led to a random conversation about Star Wars—specifically, how I had never seen it, which Caleb could not believe. That same night, he texted me out of nowhere: “I know I don’t talk to you and you don’t know me, but it’s concerning that you haven’t watched Star Wars.” And from that moment on, we never stopped texting. Our first “date” was nothing fancy. We were still young, so after church our moms would take us to the mall. We’d eat, walk around, and just hang out. A year later, we finally had our first solo date at Disney Springs, which ended up being the same place Caleb asked me to be his girlfriend—so it holds a special place in our story. Looking back now, almost eight years later, we’ve grown up together. We met when we were 16 and 17, during a season where both our families were going through a lot of change. We’ve walked through so much side by side, supported each other through all kinds of highs and lows, and grown spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. What started as a casual conversation about Star Wars turned into the most meaningful relationship—one rooted in faith, friendship, and love.
