Question

When do I need to RSVP?

Answer

The RSVP deadline has passed. If you need to modify your RSVP, please contact Steph and JD and they will try to accommodate you to the extent they are able.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by 4:00 pm to locate the ceremony area and take your seat(s) by 4:15 pm. The ceremony will begin *promptly* after seating.

Question

What are the other event details?

Answer

All wedding events will be held at Firelight Camps, including the rehearsal, welcome barbecue, ceremony, and reception. Please see the "Schedule" tab located above for date and time, location address, and other details.

Question

What should we keep in mind regarding the dress code?

Answer

Festive Attire. We request that guests wear Festive Attire, which is a fun twist on Cocktail or Semi-Formal wear. This is your chance to bring out those fun cuts, fabrics, and colors for our glammed-up woodland party! Sensible shoes. The event is entirely outdoors, meaning guests will walk on wooded trails or gravel. We recommend that guests opt for a block heel, wedges, or flats. Jackets are a must. While it’s possible temperatures warm up during the day, the evening will be chilly (mid 50s to mid 60s). To stay comfortable, guest should bring a sport coat, suit jacket, or another outer layer. We invite ladies to add a statement jacket to their Festive Attire ensemble or wear their favorite denim to match the bride during chillier hours of the reception and after party. However, we encourage all guests to wear whatever layer will keep them most comfortable, regardless of whether it matches the dress code. See more on typical weather below. Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

The party will go on! We have an event tent on standby to cover the reception area and will hold the ceremony on the dance floor, which is a permanent installation with wooden floors, a tent ceiling, and tent walls. Anyway... the bride has been known to dance in the rain, and being her wedding day is all the more reason ;) See more information on typical weather below.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will have an open bar during cocktail hour and the wedding reception. A "cash bar" (credit also accepted) is available at all other times, including before the ceremony and during the after party. See more on the after party below.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are in the bittersweet position of having too few seats for too many wonderful humans in our lives. Please respect our wishes and bring a date only if your invitation indicates you have a plus one.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Only nieces and nephews of the bride and groom are invited to join. We love your little ones, but this is an adults only kind of day! Thank you for respecting our wishes.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

While La Tourelle Hotel and Firelight Camps both have a pet-friendly policy, we kindly request that you do not bring your pets to avoid disturbing other guests. We love your four-legged family members but want you and others around you to enjoy a distraction-free weekend! Thank you for respecting our wishes.

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

No, lodging at Firelight Camps (our venue) and La Tourelle Hotel are directly onsite, meaning guests can walk from their accommodations to the ceremony and reception. Guests staying elsewhere will need to ensure they can safely travel to and from the event. Please see the "Travel" tab located above for additional details on lodging.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is free parking available at Firelight Camps (our venue) and at La Tourelle Hotel.

Question

Are there accomodations for differently abled people?

Answer

Yes, golf carts are available to transport guests among the event grounds who may have trouble walking or have other special needs. This includes transportation from La Tourelle Hotel to the venue, as well as transportation between the wooded ceremony area, reception area, and bathrooms.

Question

Is there an afterparty?

Answer

Yes! We plan to party by the campfire starting at 11:00 pm and lasting until the embers die out. We encourage our musical friends to bring their instruments and take part in our campfire jam. Bring layers to stay comfy by the fire!

Question

What is the typical weather in Ithaca this time of year?

Answer

According to locals, this is one of the best times to visit. Historically, early September in Ithaca is warm during the day (mid 70s) and chilly during the evening (mid 50s). Please layer accordingly.

Question

How do we address written checks?

Answer

Please address written checks to "James Patterson" or "Stephanie Palmer."

Question

Are Firelight Glamping tents available for everyone?

Answer

Due to limited numbers, tents were offered first to the bridal party and certain guests, and no additional tents are available at this time. Please see the "Travel" tab located above for additional lodging options.

Question

I'm glamping! What should I pack?

Answer

Firelight Camps developed a packing list for glampers (see link below). We highly recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, which you can refill with fresh cold water at the Lobby Tent. Additional items that may be helpful include: a portable charger, a flashlight or headlamp, and a tote to carry your toiletries, styling tools, and make-up to the shared bathhouse to get ready before the event. Question

Will I be Warm Enough At Night While Glamping?

Answer

We experienced a night out at Firelight Camps in late September of 2023, and we can assure you with the warm quilted bedding provided and proper layering, we were very cozy! We recommend bringing warm socks, a warm sweatshirt, warm sweatpants, and a beanie for the evening. We also recommend bringing fleece base layers (i.e., long johns) if you run cold!

Question

What amenities are included in the Glamping Experience?

Answer

All tents are outfitted with hardwood floors, plush single king or double queen beds, a private tented porch with rocking chairs, battery-powered lanterns, a writer’s desk and chair, and small desktop mirrors. Limited “electric” tents include outlets and climate control. In addition, the lodge includes many onsite games and activities (e.g., bocce ball, hiking trails to waterfalls, and board games), WiFi, several private shower rooms, two bathhouses with individual toilet closets, plenty of outlets, mirrors, and vanity space for getting ready the day of, a full bar, complementary locally sourced breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and s’mores.
