We were first introduced through mutual friends while in PA school at Quinnipiac. After attending a conference in San Antonio together, sparks began to fly. Joe invited Amanda on a day hike and she agreed, not knowing the hike was in New Hampshire, a 5 hour drive away. The two took off early for their first of many road-trips. Amanda had never hiked before but was a good sport on the rigorous 10mile hike. Joe had asked a fellow hiker on the trail to take a picture of him and Amanda. The fellow hiker took a few photos and then shouted out “kiss the bride!” prompting our first kiss. Looking back, this first date paved the way for innumerable hikes and road-trips for the years to come. We have enjoyed adventuring, road-tripping, camping, hiking and exploring together and are excited to share this piece of our lives with you! Our wedding will take place just outside of the North Cascades national park, at a campground called The Rolling Huts in Winthrop, Washington. This quaint old mining town holds everything we adore about the outdoors and the Pacific Northwest. This is why we have chosen to take the next step of our lives together, here. Our special weekend will encompass all of our favorite things; road-tripping, hiking, lazy river floats, good food, good music and hopefully you! We are excited about the opportunity to bring all of our loved ones together in such a special place. However, we recognize the potential barriers that a destination wedding can pose. We understand completely if you are unable to attend; we promise to love you no less! Please take a look through the pages of this website, as we have compiled travel suggestions and recommendations for you all. Remember - this is a camping style wedding in the middle of the woods, about three hours away from any major city. Cell phone service is scarce and gas stations are few and far between. Please prepare and plan ahead! We look forward to celebrating this wonderful weekend with you all - near or far!
