Come one come all to help us create Camp Full Heart together to celebrate the wedding weekend of Jon and Elizabeth! We dreamt up the name "Camp Full Heart" when considering our relationship - continuously we find our hearts are full of gratitude, love, and celebration for one another. When we thought of spending a weekend with all of you our hearts nearly burst! Hence the name Camp Full Heart. We hope that our time together will nourish and fill all of our hearts - it's a true gift to be together! Camp Full Heart will be hosted at an environmental learning center called NatureBridge (111 Barnes Pt. Road, Port Angeles, WA) along the enchanting shores of Lake Crescent. All guests are invited to stay at Camp Full Heart in bunkhouses and cabins both Friday and Saturday night. Accommodations can be reserved and paid for (the NatureBridge cost is $200 per adult for two nights) during RSVP. NatureBridge requests that the wedding couple make all payments directly to them so the couple will collect your payment. Saturday afternoon we will enjoy typical wedding events like a ceremony, dinner and dancing. Surrounding that will be a Friday evening Welcome Party and variety show, a full Saturday morning of outdoor adventure opportunities, and a Sunday morning Farewell Brunch. We want this to be a weekend to remember for all of our favorite people in one of our favorite places. Please see the schedule and accommodations tab for more details including an FAQ we put together answering all your questions about staying with us at Camp Full Heart (hosted at NatureBridge!).
It's hard to remember what life was like before we met! But the story of how we met goes something like this... It was July 2021 in Bellingham, WA - Elizabeth was just preparing to begin her MSW program in August while Jon was working as a therapist at Western Washington University. Blessed by the modern spirit of Cupid (known as dating applications), we connected on Bumble and felt drawn to meet in person. At first glance Elizabeth was very intrigued by Jon's gregarious, warm smile and how he expressed his love for the work he does as a therapist. Jon was quickly captivated by Elizabeth's "warmth of spirit" and her clear intention in seeking a deep partnership. When we met in person we knew we had encountered a rare and very special connection in one another. That evening we discovered that we share core values, hopes, and dreams that continue to guide our partnership today. The night went on for about 5 hours - we walked all over Bellingham from Wander Brewing to Zuanich Park, clear across town to Ellis St. through the moonlit summer night, all the while sharing bear encounter stories and swapping future dreams. It was quickly clear to both of us that we had found an equal - someone else who cares just as much about living this one precious life full heartedly. The beginning of our relationship was marked by insatiable conversations. For example, Jon called Elizabeth to find a time for their second date and the call went on for 8 hours. From the get-go, we were enthralled! Bright-eyed and busy-tailed, we were told that the honey moon phase would surely come to an end soon. But after nearly 3 years we continue to find ourselves more in love and grateful to be with each other every day. It's not uncommon for one of us to wake the other up in the middle of the night, struck with a sense of full hearted gratitude and love for the other. We feel that we've received the greatest gift in life - finding true home in each other and knowing that we've met "the love of my life!"!
Olympic National Park holds a special place in our hearts. We were originally drawn to have our wedding as close as possible to the Elwha River, inspired by the River's story of emancipation as one of the first large-scale dam removal projects in the world back in 2011-2014. Today, 10 years after the dams came down, the Elwha flows with all kinds of life - salmon, trout, dippers, & important sandy sediment, to name a few. When the dams were removed it wasn't just life in the water that returned - black bear, native plants, cougar, river-birds, and many other creatures who depend on salmon found their way home to the mighty Elwha River Valley. Inspired by this tale of remembrance, we invite you to help us create Camp Full Heart on the campus of NatureBridge, a non-profit environmental science camp for children and, during the summer months, an incredible wedding venue.
