Things To Do

There is no shortage of fun summer activities in Vail, so we've shared a few of our favorites below. Keep in mind that Vail is at 8k ft elevation so remember to hydrate and layer on the SPF!

Golf

Take a page out of Eric's book and hit the links! Your drives will go farther because of the sweet mountain air (aka elevation). There are many golf clubs in the area to choose from, including, but not limited to: - Red Sky Ranch is a private club boasting an 18-hole Tom Fazio and Greg Norman-designed course with panoramic views of the Rockies - The Beaver Creek Golf Club was designed by noted course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and is known and respected for its long, narrow, challenging fairways and its stunning scenery. - Vail Golf Club's mountain-style, 18-hole course features unique fairways, smooth putting surfaces, and a scenic layout amidst the White River National Forest.

Spa Day

Treat yourself to a mountain spa day at one of the many resorts in town. Unsure which to choose? Just ask the wedding officiant, Martin, who is also our resident spa expert! Hiking

There is a ton of great hiking around Vail, so pack your gym shoes and hit the trails. Don't forget that you'll be dealing with some serious elevation so take your time and pack plenty of water! Our favorite hikes include lakes or waterfalls and lucky for us, there are plenty of those in the Vail area.

Mountain Biking

Vail is home to miles and miles of mountain-biking singletrack that’ll get the heart pumping. Here are a few suggestions recommended by Discover Vail: - The North Trail features 12 miles of trail — from Davos Road to Spraddle Creek. Shaded by shimmering aspen stands, these trails are loved because of the ease to access them and stunning scenery that showcases Vail Mountain, the Gore Range and Holy Cross. - Meadow Mountain has a bit of everything — a long grind up a dirt road through open meadows, a little historical cabin, a fabulous descent through a large aspen forest and more singletrack on the 4-mile Everkrisp trail - Son of Buffeher is a big ride (20.6 miles and a 3,000-foot elevation gain)

Whitewater Rafting

Vail’s whitewater-rafting opportunities are as varied as they are bountiful, ranging from class I to V. Guided-rafting-trip options are available for full days, half days and quick trips from Class I up to Class V rapids on the Eagle, Colorado and Arkansas rivers. Here are a few recommendations: Timberline Tours • Lakota Guides • Sage Outdoor Adventures • Colorado Adventure Guides • Turtle Tubing
