Granlibakken Tahoe

The 74-acre property is beautiful with lots of hiking and biking trails on site (the Pacific Crest Trail runs through it and end of June is wildflower season!), a restaurant and pub for convenience, and close proximity to Tahoe City, the Truckee River, and gorgeous Lake Tahoe! Granlibakken is a beautiful 20 minute drive along Lake Tahoe's West Shore to the Wedding Venue and we will be enjoying our post wedding breakfast here on Sunday, June 25 2023. If you are not staying at Granlibakken but would like to join us for breakfast, please let us know and we will get you details!

There will be a complimentary shuttle bus service from Granlibakken to the wedding ceremony and reception at the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion in Sugar Pine State Park. Shuttle pick-up time from Granlibakken Tahoe to Hellman-Ehrman Mansion: 4:00 PM Shuttle pick-up time from Hellman-Ehrman Mansion to Granlibakken/After Party 10:00 PM The After Party will be at Pete 'n Peters in Tahoe City for those who want to continue partying with the bride and groom! NOTE: If you would like the flexibility to leave the reception early, you are welcome to drive and park at Sugar Pine State Park. Please make sure to collect a wedding parking pass for your vehicle upon entering the park.

The nearest airport to North Lake Tahoe is the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO; 51 miles) which is about one hour away. Other nearby airports include: Sacramento (SMF; 120 miles) Oakland (OAK; 203 miles) San Francisco (SFO; 210 miles)

There is limited public transportation options in the Lake Tahoe Basin and minimal Rideshares (Uber, Lyft, etc). For this reason, we highly recommend that you arrange for a rental car to get around as well as give you the freedom to explore this beautiful area. A shuttle will be provided to and from the wedding venue at Sugar Pine State Park from Granlibakken.

If you plan to stay elsewhere, please keep in mind that Lake Tahoe is BIG and we advice staying somewhere between Meeks Bay and Kings Beach. Also, summer is High Season in the Lake Tahoe Basin, so if you plan on joining us (we hope you do!) please plan ahead and book early.
