We recommend taking an Uber from these airports to your hotel/Airbnb accommodations.

In Buenos Aires city, we recommend you stay in the neighborhood of Palermo because it's a vibrant neighborhood with a lively atmosphere- people are always out walking around, shopping, coffee shops are bustling, and there are many restaurants & artisan fairs. Do note that some Airbnb listings might not display availability if you're looking way ahead. If a place appears booked, it's a good idea to message the host directly; they might just be able to accommodate you on those dates.

Travel Note
Argentina operates with two currency exchange rates: the official rate and the parallel "Dolar Blue" rate. As of June 2024, the official rate stands at 1 USD to 925 pesos. However, by exchanging your dollars at Dolar Blue outlets, such as certain Western Union branches, you can get an exchange rate closer to 1 USD to 1,300 pesos. If you use your credit card, you will be charged with the "MEP" rate, which is 1 USD to 1,285 pesos. This means that utilizing the Dolar Blue rate for cash transactions or your credit card can make your expenses nearly 30% less. We typically use our credit card, but since there may be restaurants/bars that only accept cash, we recommend bringing USD cash to Argentina and exchanging when you arrive.
Travel Note
The central neighborhoods of Buenos Aires are safe. Similar to all big cities, there are a few things to keep in mind: - Walk around with a purse or backpack that zips shut. When sitting down to eat, keep your purse in your lap. - Don’t flash expensive items like an iPhone or blingy jewelry when on the street.
Travel Note
Argentines eat dinner later than in the US. Restaurants typically open at 8 PM, and majority of people eat between 9 PM - 10 PM. On the weekend, Argentines go to bars around 10/11 PM. That being said, bars tend to open earlier, so you can beat the crowd if you'd like. Don’t be afraid to sleep in; you’ll be out late!
Travel Note
Buenos Aires is known as the Paris of South America, and locals have a European style. When going out, people are fashionably conscious. You will stand out in typical American travel wear.
Travel Note
You may tip 10% at restaurants, bars, and cafes. You may tip hotel porters the equivalent of $5 USD.
