Things To Do

Our Favorite Spots We've gathered a list of some of our favorite places in San Diego—spots that hold a special place in our hearts, whether it’s for a great meal, a fun adventure, or just a place to unwind. From cozy coffee shops to scenic hikes, we’re excited to share these hidden gems and local favorites with you. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, we hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we do!

Salt & Straw

1670 India Street, San Diego, CA 92101

A Sweet Spot – Salt & Straw For anyone with a sweet tooth, we highly recommend Salt & Straw Ice Cream, one of our favorite spots for a delicious treat. We actually went here on our second date, and it was such a fun, memorable experience. The ice cream was amazing, and we were lucky enough to get it for free that night—definitely a sweet bonus! We had such a great time enjoying the flavors and just being together. What makes this place even more special to us is that Cameron later proposed just a short walk from here, making it a place full of love and great memories. If you’re in the mood for something unique and indulgent, Salt & Straw is the perfect stop.

Jaunt Coffee Roasters

8680 Miralani Drive, San Diego, CA 92126

A Coffee Lover's Paradise – Jaunt Coffee If you’re a coffee enthusiast, Jaunt Coffee is a must-try! This cozy spot holds a special place for Cameron, as it was his go-to coffee shop when he was stationed at Miramar. I, of course, love coffee too, so naturally, it’s become one of our favorites as well. Pro Tip: Don’t miss their empanadas—they’re absolutely delicious and you won’t regret trying them! Cameron secretly has a soft spot for bougie coffee places, but he saves those visits for special occasions, making Jaunt a perfect place to indulge. Whether you're in the mood for a perfectly brewed cup or a sweet treat, Jaunt Coffee never disappoints.

Siamo Napoli Restaurant

3959 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92104

Our Favorite Italian Spot – Si Amo Napoli For a cozy, authentic Italian meal, we highly recommend Si Amo Napoli—our favorite Italian restaurant. Funny enough, it's not even located in Little Italy, but it’s by far the best we’ve found! Cameron is especially fond of it, and you can trust his judgment because he lived in Naples, Italy for two years while stationed there. If anyone knows what good Italian food tastes like, it’s him! Whether you're craving fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, or a glass of wine, Si Amo Napoli is sure to hit the spot. It’s a perfect place for an authentic Italian dinner, and we can’t wait to hear how much you love it too!

Taegukgi Korean BBQ

7655 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92111

Our Favorite KBBQ Spot – Taegukgi Korean BBQ If you’re in the mood for some delicious Korean BBQ, we can’t recommend Taegukgi Korean BBQ enough. Located on Convoy Street, known for its fantastic Asian food scene, Taegukgi is our go-to spot for grilling up some of the best meats in town. From the tender bulgogi to the flavorful galbi, the experience never disappoints. For anyone who’s new to the area, Convoy is a food lover’s paradise, filled with amazing Korean restaurants. Whether you're a KBBQ enthusiast or new to it, this place is a must-try!

Noble Experiment

777 G Street, San Diego, CA 92101

MNoble Experiment is a hidden speakeasy in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The bar is accessed through a secret entrance, adding an element of intrigue right from the start. The real highlight of Noble Experiment is the personalized cocktail experience. Expert bartenders craft custom cocktails based on your preferences, using high-quality ingredients and innovative techniques. Whether you desire a classic cocktail or something entirely unique, each drink is made with precision and care. Reservations are highly recommended.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA 92037

A Beautiful Hike – Torrey Pines For anyone who enjoys nature, Torrey Pines offers a breathtaking hiking experience. The trail winds through the iconic Torrey Pines cliffs, with beautiful glimpses of the ocean along the way. The hike culminates at a serene shoreline, perfect for taking in the views and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Cameron and I have enjoyed hiking here with friends, taking in the stunning scenery. One of the best parts is that you can drive up to the start of the trail—especially since it’s a bit steep—and then enjoy a shorter hike with incredible views. Whether you’re up for a more challenging trek or just a quick, scenic walk, Torrey Pines is a great place to experience San Diego’s natural beauty.

City Cruises San Diego

1800 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

A Scenic Sail – Hornblower Cruise For an unforgettable way to take in the beauty of San Diego, we recommend a Hornblower Cruise departing from the San Diego Harbor. This relaxing boat ride offers stunning views of the San Diego skyline as you head out to sea. Depending on the route, you might get a chance to see sea lions lounging on the rocks, and you’ll definitely enjoy the breathtaking views of the Coronado Bridge or the iconic Tom Ham's Lighthouse, which is actually where our wedding will take place! Whether you’re cruising toward the bridge or sailing right by the lighthouse, the scenery is unbeatable. It’s a perfect way to unwind, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take in some of the best views San Diego has to offer.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

Our Favorite Wild Adventure – San Diego Zoo & Safari Park If you're looking for a fun day out, San Diego Zoo and Safari Park are two must-see spots in the area. While the zoo is iconic and full of amazing animals, we both agree that the Safari Park is the real standout. The vast landscapes, open-air exhibits, and unique experiences make it a truly special place to visit. Fun fact: Jasmin worked at the Safari Park for two years, so she's definitely a little biased when it comes to recommending it. But honestly, we love it there, and it’s a place we’ve enjoyed visiting together. Whether you’re into wildlife, nature, or just want a fun day in the sun, the Safari Park is our top pick.

Balboa Park

1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA

A Special Place – Balboa Park Balboa Park holds a special place in our hearts. It’s one of our favorite spots to enjoy a relaxing picnic together, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery. We even did our engagement shoot here, capturing some of our most cherished memories in the park’s stunning gardens and iconic spots. A fun little tidbit: Cameron actually asked me to be his girlfriend during one of our picnics in the park. It’s a simple yet meaningful place for us, and we love going back whenever we want to unwind, enjoy each other’s company, and take in the beauty around us. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape or just a great place to stroll, Balboa Park is always a great choice.
