What date should I RSVP by?

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have blocked off rooms at The Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT, which is around 25 minutes from the church. If you'd like to stay here, you can call them at 203-264-8200, press 6 to speak with the front desk, then mention 'Powell/Long' to be placed in our block. With our block, the Friday/Saturday night rate is $185 and the Sunday night rate is $165. The hotel block closes 45 days before the wedding, so be sure to book before September 10th. If you would like to stay somewhere else, we'd highly recommend looking into an AirBnB, as there are very limited hotels in the area.

Are you having a registry?

Answer

We have chosen not to have a registry, and while gifts are in no way expected, if you would like to celebrate us beyond the day, we will gratefully accept gifts toward our future together in the form of cash or checks.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is formal attire. This includes jackets and ties and floor/ankle-length dresses. October weather in Connecticut is unpredictable, but almost everything will be inside, so no need to worry too much about temperature when picking out your outfit. If you have any questions about what to wear, please feel free to reach out to either of us!

Can I bring a plus one?

All guests who have received a plus one will be able select the option to bring a guest through the RSVP portal on our website.

Can I Uber/Lyft to and from the wedding?

Answer

Ubers/Lyfts are very sparse (and sometimes nonexistent) in this area of Connecticut. If you are flying here, we highly recommend renting a car. Also, please note that cell phone service is very limited in the area.

Cell Phone Policy

Answer

We would love it if guests would refrain from using their phones throughout the day, with a strict no phone policy during the ceremony. There is a wonderful photographer who will be capturing everything, and we'll be sure to share her photos with you!

How long will the ceremony be?

Answer

The ceremony will be a Nuptial Mass and will last around an hour.

How long will the reception be?

Answer

The reception at South Farms in Morris will start with a cocktail hour at 3:30 PM and will end at 8:30 PM.
