Cameron and I met when I came down to New Orleans to visit for the first time. I was looking for a fresh place to start somewhere outside of Michigan. While I love Michigan I felt like my place was somewhere else. So I decided to come visit Kelly for the first time since she had moved. I had my feet on the ground less then 2 hours before I knew this place would be my new home. For the next few days I explored and fell in love with the city even more. New Orleans bleeds black and gold so Kelly took me to watch a Saints game at a local bar. I was just like yeah ok its just a football game. No, the Saints are a big deal here. She was sending updates to a few friends on what we were doing throughout my time here and if any of them wanted to join us they could. Cameron decided to join us that night. He shows up, this big guy with a shaved head and a beard wearing a Slayer t-shirt. We are introduced and I can't understand what he says because of his shyness and accent. So as we watch the game we get to talking and really hit it off. The next day I invited him to do the lame touristy stuff like go to the aquarium. It was a lot of fun for both of us. We even debated whether crawfish were food or pets. We talked and/or hung out every single day I was here for the rest of my trip. When I went back home we continued to talk everyday. It wasn't long like maybe a couple weeks before I found myself telling him he was my soulmate. He agreed! It only took 5 months from the time we met before I moved down here and in with him. We have navigated many adventures in our time together including adopting furbabies, coronavirus, buying a new vehicle together not to mention our own ups and downs. Through it all we have become stronger better people and I hope that we can continue to do so.
