There are many beach clubs along the hotel zone, but Papaya is exceptional. Spend the day relaxing, swimming and sampling ceviche, while you sip in the sun. The bride and groom will be here the Thursday before the wedding. Please join if you are able for lunch or rent a cabana to relax for the day. Reservations are recommended with a food & drink minimum for cabanas/day beds (~$30pp). Other beach club recommendations include: La Zebra, Tantra, Taboo, Ziggy's, Coco Tulum, and Ahau Tulum.
The cenotes of Tulum are a series of crystalline freshwater pools connected by a maze of underground rivers. There are quite a few cenotes surrounding Tulum. Consider going earlier in the day to avoid crowds and bring cash for the entrance fee and snorkel gear!
You won't struggle to find amazing food in Tulum in the hotel zone. Tu offers an intimate setting in the jungle along the beach. Reservations are recommended. Other restaurant recommendations include; La Zebra, Hartwood (cash only), El Tábano and Kin Toh. You can't go wrong!
Ready to sip on some mezcal? Some of the best cocktails can be found in Tulum. Gitano brings an Instagram worthy atmosphere with tasty cocktails. You can also indulge in dinner, but drinks are the standout here. Other recommendations include; Kanan Tulum (bring your swimsuit for the swim-up bar), Be Tulum, Casa Jugar, Coco Beach Bar and Arca Tulum.
Give your liver a break! Tulum offers no shortage of health juice and restaurant options, but Raw Love has Tulum’s best wellness-centered breakfast. Located inside the famous Ahau Tulum hotel, Raw Love is worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. Delicious acai bowls, smoothie and salads will help revive you from the night before. Be sure to get a picture at Ahau’s entrance on your way in! Other recommendations for a healthy stop along the beach include The Real Coconut at Sanará and Matcha Mama.
Perhaps our most highly recommended breakfast and lunch spot in downtown Tulum. Burrito Amor offers healthy smoothies, delectable burritos and more! Other recommendations: Taquería Honorio, a divey, makeshift place with serious cochinita pibil. Keep in mind, though, that this is a breakfast spot, and the day is done at 1:30 p.m.
Tapped out of tacos? Bonita Burger offers creative burgers cocktails and more at a much friendlier price point than the hotel zone restaurants. Other downtown Tulum recommendations include; TU, Gypsea Market, Farm to Table, Tres Galeones, Off the Vine and Batey Mojito and Guarapo Bar.
