Hotel

Madingley Hall or Rectory Farm

Madingley
England CB23 8AQ, United Kingdom
 +44 1223 746222

Madingley Hall is where our families will be staying! Madingley Hall isn't so much a hotel as it is a college with student dorms (a dormitory built for King Henry VIII specifically), so it'll give you a taste of our graduate student lives in Cambridge. For our wedding day on Friday, August 19th, we will be arranging for transport from Madingley to the ceremony and back (at night). We have a number of reserved rooms for our guests, so please book online at madingleyhall.co.uk/accommodation. If accommodation at Madingley is no longer available, we recommend booking a room at the nearby hotel, Rectory Farm: rectoryfarm.net/booking/ which is within walking distance from Madingley Hall. Other hotels we’d recommend (though not within walking distance of Madingley): University Arms Hotel, The Varsity Hotel & Spa, and Graduate Cambridge Hotel.

Train

Hogwarts Express

We've taken the train from Heathrow to Cambridge many times - a great option if you are budgeting for more travel time. The trip from Heathrow to Madingley Hall / Rectory Farm will take about 3.5 hours in total. We'd recommend buying your tickets at the airport itself. From Heathrow Airport, head to the airport's 'Hatton Cross' stop to take the Piccadilly line (towards Arnos Grove) to King's Cross St. Pancras. (OPTIONAL: If you're a Harry Potter fan, visit the trolley at Platform 9 3/4s at King's Cross Station and take a picture of you dashing through the brick wall between platforms 9 and 10). At King's Cross, take the Great Northern line (towards King's Lynn) straight to Cambridge! When you get off, hire an Uber or a taxi to take you to Madingley Hall or Rectory Farm.

Rental Car

Kayak

We recommend hiring a car at Heathrow to make the most of your trip to Cambridge, and we use Kayak to compare deals ourselves. Driving from Heathrow to Madingley Hall or Rectory Farm takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
