FAQs

Question

When do I need to RSVP?

Answer

Please let us know if you’re joining the fiesta by April 15th, 2027. We need to give the resort a final headcount so they know exactly how many margaritas to salt and how many cave-side seats to prep!

Question

Can I just book my own room on Expedia?

Answer

We love your independent spirit, but please don’t! To ensure you’re part of our official wedding block (and to snag our discounted group rates), all bookings must go through our wonderful travel agent, Diane Mason (Landline (636) 272-7245 or email diane@ctplanner.com). Not only does this keep everyone in the same area of the resort, but it also guarantees your free airport shuttles and access to all the Xcaret parks. Plus, Diane is way more fun to talk to than a robot at a travel site.

Question

Can I stay at an Airbnb or a different hotel nearby?

Answer

We strongly advise against it! To join us for the wedding festivities, the resort requires you to be a registered guest at Hotel Xcaret. If you stay elsewhere, the hotel charges a steep daily "Guest Pass" fee (often $150+ per person, per day) just to step foot on the property. Between those fees and missing out on the "All-Fun Inclusive" perks, you’d actually end up spending way more than if you just stayed in the heart of the action with us. Don't pay extra just to commute—stay in the bubble where the tacos and margaritas are already paid for!

Question

Do I have to pay for the whole trip upfront?

Answer

Only if you really want to show off! Otherwise, Diane is a magician and can set up payment plans. You can lock in your room with a deposit and chip away at the balance over time. It’s much easier to enjoy a margarita when you know your trip is already paid for in installments.

Question

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

Diane will coordinate your transportation to and from the airport and the hotel. She’ll ensure a shuttle is waiting to whisk you away to paradise. If you find yourself trying to hail a donkey or a random cab, you’ve gone rogue. Stick with Diane’s plan!

Question

Can I just come for the night of the wedding?

Answer

Much like a good tequila, this trip requires a little more time to appreciate. To be part of our wedding block and get the "All-Fun Inclusive" perks, there is a 3-night minimum stay. Trust us, between the 900 swimming pools and the underground rivers, you’ll be wishing you stayed for six.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We’re going full nature! The ceremony will be held outdoors (hello, Caribbean breeze!), and the reception will take place in one of Xcaret's stunning natural caves. Expect epic views, lush jungle surroundings, and maybe a very confused tropical bird or two. Since we’ll be embracing the elements, we recommend dressing for the humidity and keeping those footwear tips in mind!

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We’re going with Cocktail-attire. Think: cocktail dresses, breezy midi dresses, chic jumpsuits, or a jacket with slacks (tie optional, but looking dapper is encouraged!). Since our reception is literally in a cave, we want you to look your best without losing a battle to the humidity or the ancient rock formations.

Question

What is "All-Fun Inclusive"? Does that mean the tequila is free?

Answer

Yes, and yes! It means your stay covers your room, high-end dining, top-shelf drinks, and—the best part—unlimited access and transportation to all 7 Xcaret parks. Basically, if you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong.

Question

Is the water safe to drink?

Answer

The resort provides plenty of filtered and bottled water. We recommend sticking to that—unless it’s in the form of a margarita, in which case, drink up! Plus! Your mini-bar is restocked DAILY as part of your all-inclusive package!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We’ve addressed your invitation to specifically include those we can’t wait to celebrate with. If your invite says “and Guest,” feel free to bring your favorite human. If not, we promise to provide plenty of tequila to keep you company.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Absolutely! If you’ve got tiny humans, bring 'em along. Hotel Xcaret is basically a 5-star jungle gym, and we’d love to see their faces when they realize "all-you-can-eat ice cream" is a very real thing here. Just make sure to tell Diane so she can snag you a room in the family-friendly buildings (close to the kids' pool and the octopus slides!).

Question

Is childcare available?

Answer

Yes, childcare services are available through the concierge services at an additional cost. Please reach out to Diane to let her know and she can help coordinate for your little ones!

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Your presence is the only present we need! We are so incredibly grateful that you are spending your hard-earned money and precious vacation time to celebrate with us in Mexico. Seriously—don't buy us a toaster. Your flight confirmation is the best gift we could ask for!

Question

Should I bring cash or pesos? Credit cards?

Answer

Small amounts of cash (USD or pesos) are helpful for tipping and small purchases. Hotel Xcaret accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.

Question

How early should I arrive at the airport?

Answer

For international travel, it’s recommended to arrive at least 3 hours before your flight.

Question

Will I go through customs and immigration?

Answer

Yes. Upon arrival in Mexico, you will go through immigration and customs, and again when returning to the U.S.

Question

Should I fly into the Tulum or Cancun airport?

Answer

All of our guests must fly into the same airport to use the Hotel Xcaret shuttle, which will be the Cancun airport.
