Meet Cute

go bears!

David and Kirra first met as neighbors in their apartment complex while attending UC Berkeley. They first spent time together on a car ride up to Lake Tahoe with the Cal Ski and Snowboard Club. David was disappointed when Kirra fell asleep for most of the ride because he was eager to learn more about this girl with the pretty smile who was full of positivity and a sense of adventure. Kirra didn’t think much of David at first because he seemed shy, but little did she know how much of a chatter box he really is. Although the two got to know each other a bit on cabin trips, they fell out of touch when Kirra graduated a year before David. A couple years later, a late night text from David miraculously resulted in Kirra agreeing to meet for a game of mini golf and drinks later that week. After seeing Kirra’s mini golf skills and learning more about how genuine, smart, and fun-loving she was, David knew he had found a keeper. After mini golf, during drinks at El Techo, Kirra learned how adventurous David is and how he seemed to enjoy traveling as much as she does. Six years later, their relationship has grown through living together in San Francisco and San Diego, shredding Tahoe with friends, international travels, a long distance relationship while David attended grad school, and adopting a puppy - and they are more in love than ever!

The Big Question

June 3, 2021

David took Kirra on a trip to Bozeman, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons to explore trails and camp under the summer stars. On the first day of the trip, they went on a hike to Lava Lake. David was nervous the whole hike and Kirra noticed that he wasn’t his usual chatty self. After 3 hard miles uphill they arrived, hungry and sweaty, to the top with a breathtaking view of the vibrant blue lake with snow dusted mountains in the distance. David tried to stall by suggesting they take pictures but Kirra was eager to eat her sandwich on a giant pile of rocks. He knew he couldn’t wait any longer and this was the moment. To Kirra’s surprise, David reached into his backpack, kneeled, and pulled out an engagement ring! He asked Kirra to marry him - she couldn’t hear a word he was saying and was in shock as she said yes!
