Nadia and Caleb first met on a cool, spring evening in Dearborn, Michigan, surrounded by mutual friends and the warmth of a cozy bonfire. Although Caleb says the fire in his heart for Nadia burned since the moment he first saw her, Nadia was skeptical of this, as Caleb said a total of three words to her that chilly night - "Hi, I'm Caleb." What brought these two people together and cemented their unknown futures into one? The history books will say it was due to a series of very specific events; romantic novels written about the two will say it was destined centuries ago, written in the stars; Nadia and Caleb say it was their love of involving beer in all activities they partake in. Even if Nadia was too afraid to catch a pop-fly, and even if Caleb had a broken wrist for the entire season, the two have beer-league, co-ed, recreational softball to thank for the blossoming of their relationship. Caleb extended every effort for Nadia to agree to a date, but her stubborn personality enabled her to have every possible excuse tumble out of her mouth - "I'm tired," "I have plans tonight," "My dog ate my planner so I don't know my availability later." Finally, Caleb seized matters into his own hands and developed the plan that would ultimately sweep Nadia off of her feet: inviting himself to one of her indoor soccer games and wooing her over greasy, cheese pizza, tall, room-temperature glasses of draft beer, and a couple games of pool. Nadia thought that no more romantic date had ever occurred on this side of the Mississippi.

After that, the couple was inseparable. They took their love international - to Europe, where they stayed with Nadia's brother and sister-in-law in the famously, romantic Reading, England. They spent their time soaking in steaming, hot springs in Reykjavik, Iceland, drinking beer from steins the size of a grown man's boot in Munich, Germany, basking in the expansive beauty and breathing in the crisp, fresh air of Austria, and taking long, wandering strolls through whimsical gardens in Paris, France. Upon returning from their European escapades, Nadia and Caleb road-tripped across the country and planted their flag in Denver, Colorado in April of 2018. Here, they expanded their family from 2 to 4 with the adoption of their feisty, spontaneous cat, Winston, and lovable, energetic puppy, Leroy. In Denver, they love to explore the city, its effervescent culture, its delectable foods, and its vibrant nightlife. When they find the free time to escape the city they enjoy taking a hike that ends up being longer than planned, or undertaking new activities, like snowboarding (really they just fall down a lot). Their all-time favorite activity is hosting friends with plenty of laughter and jokes, around a warm fire - similar to the one that brought Nadia and Caleb together.

After a year and a half of living in Denver, Nadia and Caleb decided it was time they finally visit the Denver-famous "Blossoms of Light" at the Denver Botanic Gardens, where the beautiful, wintry gardens are garnished with holiday lights. The couple ordered a late Lyft to the gardens where Caleb urged Nadia that they go to the "cash bar" that was about "halfway through the gardens." Nadia was in more of a hot chocolate mood, but Caleb insisted - later, Nadia would learn Caleb was guiding her through the gardens to reach his surprise location. Walking along the trails they came across a solarium tucked back in an area of the garden. Caleb suggested they walk down and see what was inside, but Nadia pointed out the very obvious "Private Event Only" sign that - as a rule-follower - she was not willing to pass. Caleb encouraged Nadia that indeed they were allowed to go down there as it was included in their "VIP" package. Nadia followed Caleb hand-in-hand towards the solarium where they saw a lone woman sitting inside. Upon opening up the doors, Nadia was shocked to see it was her best friend from home, Chloe; confusedly she hugged her and asked what she was doing there, while Chloe secretly guided Caleb to an appropriate spot to enact his secret plan. Nadia turned around from her greeting and saw Caleb down on one knee. The tears instantly began to flow down Nadia's face once Caleb began his proposal that, quite frankly, neither person remembers the exact words said. The trio finished their celebration with a popping of champagne which was drank straight from the bottle. Although they don't know what their future holds, they know they want to do it hand-in-hand and are thrilled to start a new chapter in their life.
