Caity and Noah met the same way their fathers would later meet -- at work (it's true, ask them about it). Newly minted college grads, they ended up as analysts on the same team at Nielsen. Almost immediately, they both felt the other was trying way too hard and taking market research way too seriously. Caity saw right through Noah's feigned enthusiasm, and Noah found Caity's unyielding work ethic insufferable. Equally passionate about climbing the corporate ladder, they were natural foes. Friends would later tell them it should have never worked. But as they say, you keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. As time passed, their competitive energy turned to a mutual fondness. During work outings, Noah found Caity's personality magnetic -- his guard whittled away with each of her laughs or smiles. Caity, too, was softened -- partially by Noah's wit, but mostly by his willingness to buy her cheese fries after late work nights. Their romantic feelings would finally bubble to the surface at Danny's Tavern in Wicker Park on September 26th, 2015, a little over a year from when they first met. (Noah would go on to spend the next few weeks excitedly telling his friends he had a girlfriend. You can imagine his surprise when, on October 11th, Caity asked him if he'd like to "start being exclusive". He happily agreed.)
On the surface, the two are quite different. Caity is Catholic, Noah is Jewish. Caity regularly runs 26.2 miles for fun, Noah has run a lifetime total of 26.2 miles. Caity has "yellow undertones" and Noah has "pink undertones" (Caity reminds Noah of this every time they're out in the sun). Caity owns a super comfortable men's heather-gray hoodie, Noah used to own a super comfortable men's heather-gray hoodie. They once had a workplace in common, but even that eventually came to an end when the pair decided Caity had the more promising career at Nielsen, and Noah left to take up a post as a glorified meter maid (see: spothero.com). However, dig a layer deeper and you'll learn they share quite a lot. They share excitement in each other's wins (Noah on the sidelines at Caity's marathons). They share support during difficult times (Caity on the other end of the phone as Noah works through daily existential crises in business school). They share gratitude toward Nielsen for placing two bright-eyed try-hards a few cubicles apart. They share tons of cheese fries. And now, they can't wait to share their love for one another with their families and friends.
