Travel

For our friends and family coming from out of town here is some travel information! The easiest way to get around in the area is with a car. North of the Merritt Parkway quickly gets "rural."

Travel Note

The Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry

For our Long Island guests, the Bridgeport-Port Jeff ferry is a great way to escape the traffic and enjoy the Long Island Sound on a summer day. The ferry is just 25 minute from the venue. The ferry is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and you have the option to take a car on or be a "walk on" passenger. I would suggest booking a car ticket as far in advance as you can to ensure you get the time you want. I always give myself a 20 minute buffer, but they generally run a tight ship and don't get behind schedule wise. If you plan on traveling on Friday to the wedding - the ferry will be much better than driving around traffic wise.

Train

Metro North

From the NYC area, you can take the Metro North Railroad. Please look it up to confirm this information, but you can take the New Haven line to Bridgeport and transfer to the Waterbury line - eventually ending up at the Derby-Shelton station just 2.5 miles from the venue.

Flight

Airport Options

Technically the closest airport is New Haven - Tweed, however its very limited on flight options. JFK, Laguardia, Newark, and CT Bradley are also within driving distance and many have public transportation options.
