Suggested attire is cocktail or garden party. Sun dresses are welcome. For those who may wear suits - you can ditch the jacket but still wear pants. I wouldn't wear jeans. Think: It's casual and fun, but not a backyard BBQ. Shoes: the venue is a beautiful garden, with lots of grass to walk on. Suggestion is flats or a chunkier heel that won't sink into the soft ground.
We ask that the event remains 21+. Unfortunately we are only able to accommodate children in the wedding party at our reception.
Everything is in the same place! The ceremony will take place maybe 100 feet from where the cocktail hour and reception will be. Once you get to The Hops Company, you are all ready to party.
Yes - there is a parking lot and the venue will reserve some parking spots for the event. They do have a second lot around the block from the main lot as well. You are allowed to leave your car overnight - please be safe and take that option if you are unable to drive!!
The entire venue is outside. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be open to the elements. The bar area is in a building that fully opens to the outside, and the reception area is under a large tent. If there is inclement weather, all parts of the evening will take place in the bar building and under the tent, which is large enough to accommodate the entire group.
Cocktail hour will have a crudités station and a charcuterie station. There will also be passed hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, there will be a buffet with food flowing - no one will leave hungry. We have also taken into consideration our friends and family with food allergies, sensitivities, and other dietary preferences. There will be dairy free, gluten free, and meat free options!
The Hops Company is known for the extensive beverage list - and thats a major benefit of having a wedding there! There will be a bunch of different beers on tap (a few standards and some seasonal selections), a variety of wines, some signature cocktails, and various spirits to choose from. Please enjoy as much as you'd like (responsibly) - the cocktail hour and reception drinks are on us :)
No - it's smoke free, and also very bad for you!
We ask that you DO NOT take your phone out at all during the ceremony and you put them on airplane mode. We want our guests to be present during the ceremony - so we hired a photographer to take care of all the pictures. Don't worry about taking any during the ceremony, but we encourage you to take pictures throughout the cocktail hour and reception.
Yes - we encourage you to get there a little early as the plan is to start the ceremony at 4pm! If you get there wildly early, the event staff will direct you into the main building at The Hops Company to sit, relax, and have a drink.
Traffic along I-95 and the Merritt Parkway is fairly predictable in that there WILL be traffic on a Friday in the early afternoon. Please give yourself more time than expected to get to the venue. Often a 30 minute trip can turn into a 60 minute trip on a Friday afternoon.
