Knoxville has Tyson McGhee which is about 20 minutes from downtown. Allegiant often has great deals from Chicago Midway. Nashville has more direct and budget airlines that can sometimes still be significantly cheaper even if you add the price of a rental car on top of it. Allegiant sometimes has a direct flight from Bozeman. Nashville is a 3 hour drive from Knoxville.
If you fly into Knoxville we structured the weekend so you do not need one if you don’t want one! Your most expensive uber will be $25-$60 from the airport to downtown, and from there everything is walkable, or accessible by $1 bus ride or $10 Ubers.
It is about an hour to an hour and half drive to the closest entrance points through Townsend and Gatlinburg and well worth the trip if you have an extra day!
It is the Dogwood Arts Festival Weekend at World's Fair Park downtown. A great time, go up in the Sunsphere while you are over there! If you are staying in North Knoxville, grab a coffee at Partial Coffee and stroll around the historic 4th and gill neighborhood. We live close to here and love walking the dogs and looking at the houses and gardens in spring. If you'd like to be active, Yoga Central and Glowing body both have great Saturday classes. Or take a walk or mountain bike ride on the urban trails at Sharp's Ridge or in South Knoxville at Baker Creek Preserve. You can rent mountain bikes at Bear Paw Bikes at Baker Creek. Most importantly, show up at 5pm hydrated, intact, and ready to party.
