Wes and Caitlin met in 2017 on a group backpacking trip near Big Sky when Wes's best man, Ryley, invited Caitlin and a friend along! Wes had a girlfriend at the time, but not long after, there were a few dinner dates, late nights playing pool, some swing dancing, and not much beyond that. Fast forward a few years, and Wes became roommates with two of Caitlin's good friends. Wes didn't have a husky ruling his life yet at that point, so he had really taken to Caitlin's dog, Luna. After a few months, Caitlin had asked Wes to watch Luna for a few long weekends, and Wes was one of the only dog sitters who could handle and enjoy Luna's chaotic energy. A few post-dog sitting porch beers and hikes after that, and the rest slowly became history. In 2022, Caitlin and Wes decided to put their relationship to the test and live together without roommates for the first time. They packed up a U-Haul and the dogs and moved across the country to Tennessee. Other than the sink holes and semi-annual urban chicken massacres from Oni, it has gone better than they could have ever hoped. Over the Christmas season in 2024, Caitlin and Wes had an itch for a cold and dark holiday, and opted for a Norway trip. On Christmas, Wes somehow managed to surprise Caitlin and got down on one knee in a little town in the northern part of the country just as a big storm was rolling in. An obvious yes.
