How We Met

We met at the University of North Florida —not through class, but through Greek life. Caitlin was a Kappa Delta and the sweetheart of Max’s fraternity, ATO. Our first date? New Orleans for Max’s fraternity formal—a bold start to what would become a great adventure. Throughout college, our relationship grew over late-night beach bar outings (RIP to all those Ritz Gatorades), countless Chipotle runs, greek events and weekends away. After graduating, we settled in Atlanta and built a life filled with love, travel, and quality time with our first baby: Remy, the world’s most spoiled rescue pup. Max proposed in 2024 on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South Africa, and now we are gearing up for the next great adventure—marriage!

Why Costa Rica

The original plan was to get married in Jacksonville Beach—same date, same people, same party—until our venue, Casa Marina, was unexpectedly sold. With less than a year to go, we were suddenly back at square one. We truly tried to keep things local and easy for everyone, but nothing in Jacksonville quite matched the vibe we had imagined. From the very beginning, we envisioned a weekend where everyone could stay together, celebrate together, and not have to worry about how they were getting home that night. That’s when we reached back out to Villa Caletas, a venue we had considered early in the planning process—and as fate would have it, April 11 was still available. And it’s not just a beautiful location—it’s a meaningful one. Caitlin’s parents, Pam and Greg, honeymooned at Villa Caletas over 30 years ago. She and her sister Tiffany grew up visiting the hotel, and from the time Caitlin visited, she would say: “This is where I want to get married.” So while this wasn’t the plan we thought we’d follow, it’s the one we were meant to. We know Costa Rica’s a bit farther than Jacksonville Beach—but we’re beyond excited for the adventure ahead, and we can’t wait to celebrate with the people who mean the most to us.
