We recommend semi-formal attire, such as cocktail, maxi, and midi dresses; jumpsuits; slacks and a nice shirt. Ties are optional. We will be parading and dancing through the park, so please wear or bring comfortable shoes (low heels, flats, loafers, oxfords, sneakers, lace-up shoes). Also consider bringing: an umbrella and/or raincoat, clothes for layering (shawl, light jacket, sweater), a hat, sunglasses and/or sunscreen, and cash (singles/$5 bills).
The venue is mainly outdoors, with two indoor rooms for relaxing (one with AC and one with fans). Temperatures in New Orleans will likely range between 60-80°F. In March, when we see rain, it is typically scattered showers. Consider bringing an umbrella or raincoat, as well as a shawl or sweater to put on in case you get cold. And please, please cross your fingers that it doesn't rain!
The wedding party is wearing just about all of the colors under the sun, including varying shades of green, yellow, and pink. Please don't worry about matching them and wear whatever you'd like.
Disco Formal means whatever you want it to mean. We are not suggesting that you dress in Disco-themed clothes (unless you really wanna). The inspiration behind our wedding website password is our sweet pup, Disco.
A second line is a vibrant New Orleans tradition where people dance and celebrate as they follow a brass band. During our Wedding Second Line, we will follow our band across a footbridge and under some oak trees in the park, before circling back to the peristyle once more and heading to the reception area. Remember to wear comfortable shoes, since we will be walking on the grass and sidewalk.
The Second Line will last about 30 minutes and is approximately half a mile. You can choose to complete all, part, or none of the Second Line. If you don't feel up to the entire thing, we recommend waiting by the peristyle until we circle back. From the peristyle, it's a very short stroll across a lawn to the reception, and walking is always more fun with music.
Children under 12 are welcome. If you have an older child, please reach out to us.
While we would love for everyone to bring a date, the wedding venue has a guest cap, which limits the number of people we can invite. At this time, we have primarily invited couples we've gotten to know very well. If there's someone special you'd like to bring, please let us know—we’ll do our best to make it possible!
We'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet-style dinner. If you have any allergies, please reach out, and we’ll let you know which foods to avoid. We've included some of the main dietary restrictions below. Our Vegetarian Selections include: Eggplant Caponata, Cheese-Stuffed Mushrooms, Stuffed Artichokes, and Red Beans and Rice. Our Gluten-Free Options include Shrimp Roumalade, Sesame Tuna, Oyster En Brochette, Pecan-Crusted Chicken, and Red Bean and Rice. If you are a Pescatarian, please note that most seafood dishes are pescatarian options. Just be sure to avoid the Oyster En Brochette, which contains bacon, and the Crawfish and Tasso Beignets, which contain pork.
We've reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Monteleone. If you're interested in booking, please let us know. If you prefer exploring on your own, we recommend staying in the French Quarter, Mid City or Esplanade Ridge. All of those locations would be about a ten-minute ride to the venue. Feel free to contact us for more recommendations.
There should be ample free parking at the wedding venue.
We will party, rain or shine. Though the venue is both inside and outside, there is plenty of indoor space. We will contact all guests immediately if we need to adjust the timing of the ceremony or the second line.
