Allahabad (also known as Prayagraj) is one of the most beautiful and spiritually significant cities in all of India, located close to Triveni Sangam, the "three-river confluence" of the Ganges, Yamuna, and deified Sarasvati. It is also Vishie's mother's hometown, and the location for our Indian wedding! Our Indian celebration will consist of three major events over the course of two days: the Haldi ceremony in the morning of December 26, the Sangeet in the evening of December 26, and the Hindu wedding ceremony in the late morning/early afternoon of December 27. This beautiful hotel will be the venue for our Sangeet on December 26 and our wedding ceremony on December 27, as well as our primary accommodations for out of town guests. We have already secured a block of rooms in this hotel for out of town guests, and will reach out to guests with more information about accommodations once we have received RSVPs.

This beautiful hotel (located a five-minute drive from the Hotel Kanha Shyam) will serve as the venue for our Haldi ceremony on December 26, as well as providing overflow accommodations for out of town guests. We have already secured a block of rooms in this hotel for out of town guests, and will reach out to guests with more information about accommodations once we have received RSVPs. A shuttle service between the two hotels will be provided for wedding guests.

Flight

Prayagraj Airport

Prayagraj Airport (formerly known as Allahabad Airport) is a domestic airport with daily flights to and from Delhi and other major cities within India. For those traveling to Allahabad from outside India, we recommend that you fly to Delhi and take a connecting flight to this airport, which is an approximately 30-minute car ride from Hotel Kanha Shyam. Please let us know when you plan to arrive in Allahabad, as we will be happy to arrange transportation for you to and from the airport.

Guidance for International Travelers

If you are not an Indian citizen or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card holder, you will need a tourist visa to enter India. Fortunately, India's e-Visa application process is quick and easy: it only takes a few minutes to apply online and you will receive your ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) via email within about 3 days of submitting your application. From there, all you need to do is bring your passport and a copy of your ETA to the immigration agent at the airport where you first arrive in India. Please note that you are required to submit your e-Visa application between 120 days and 4 days before your arrival, and that there is a submission fee that varies in cost depending on your country of origin.
