We are so ready to officially be husband and wife! Tyler and I were so disappointed to postpone our wedding last summer in Leavenworth. BUT! Since we took the leap of faith and booked our (smaller) wedding in Hawaii, it has felt like this is the wedding we were meant to have. Tyler and I have had many special times on Maui together, and we can't wait to create another memory with all of you!
As many of you may know, Tyler and I met early on in high school. What many of you may not know is that we met because our best friends were siblings. I met Tyler the summer after my freshman year of high school at the Keener's house. As most adolescent love begins, we hardly talked and definitely avoided eye contact. Eventually, Tyler asked Kylie for my phone number and the rest is history.
We were on Maui celebrating my college graduation with my parents. It was the end of our first day in paradise, and we were walking through old town Lahaina. We walked under the Banyan Tree and around to the waterfront public park. I hopped up on the breaker wall to look out at the bay, and Tyler joined me. Suddenly, he throws his hat on the ground and drops down on one knee. I threw my phone (thankfully not into the ocean), as he asked me to marry him. I said, "Of course!" and we spent the entire vacation celebrating us.
