Foxwoods Resort Casino
Foxwoods casino is not just for gambling. There is also an entire Tanger Outlets attached to it that is 3 floors. Within Foxwoods they also have an arcade for kids. But you can also gamble as well as attend live shows. This casino also has...BINGO! The bingo lasts for about 4 hours though start to finish so be ready! Our group of friends and us go to bingo often but have yet to win! Hopefully you get lucky!
Mohegan Sun
This is another casino nearby. This casino is definitely more for the gamblers - there is shopping but not as much of it. No bingo here.
SuperCharged Indoor Karting and Trampoline
This is the WORLDS largest multi-level kart track! There is also a beautiful 8,000 square feet Trampoline Park. This is a great day activity for the whole family - do a race, then jump for a little, and go back to racing! They do have food on site as well if someone gets hungry. This is very close to the casinos.
Mansfield Drive-in Theatre & Marketplace
Our local drive-in movie theatre. Every Sunday there is also a flea market that is INCREDIBLE!
Coventry Farmers' Market
The Farmers Market is open every Sunday! It is outdoors so if it is raining this may not be the best option. The farmers market opens at 11am and is the largest farmers market in CT. It also has a BUNCH of food trucks so make sure you arrive HUNGRY!
The Shoppes at Buckland Hills
These are the local shops. We do have some here in Windham but these in Manchester have a LOT more options. There is a mall and 2 different outdoor shopping options. They have almost any store you can think of here! If you are staying in Mansfield this mall is only 15 minutes away.
Mansfield Community Playground
The local playground that Sophia loves going to! It is fenced in and the ground is made of a rubbery mat that has a little bounce to it so that hopefully nobody gets hurt. The playground is castle themed so there are towers and a dragon guarding it! There is also a skate park here if anyone is interested in that. Dont miss the Uconn Dairy Bar that is right down the road with homemade ice cream where you sit looking at all the cows in the pasture. It may look like you arrive at the community center - it is located to the side; don’t go to the back of the center though because the parking back there is very far from the park itself.
Lebanon Town Green
The town green is a beautiful piece of land to take a walk on. The houses surrounding the green are all historic buildings with some of them offering tours even.
UConn Dairy Bar
If you are looking for homemade ice cream then this is the spot to go! This is Sophia’s FAVORITE spot to go to! You can sit and eat ice cream outside while watching the cows roam free in the pasture. If you turn onto Horsebarn Hill Rd that is right next to the Dairy Bar; you drive through all the barns and will see goats, cows, horses, and even some steer I think. It is so much fun to park on the road and watch the horses run around. It is also right down the road from the park we go to which is also listed here so if you have kids with you this would make a great little daytrip. The Mansfield Community Center Playground.
Tacos La Rosa
If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine then look no further! This place is AMAZING! It transports you directly to Mexico with both the atmosphere and the taste/quality of food.
Tony's Pizza
BEST PIZZA IN WILLIMANTIC HANDS DOWN! I will warn you though that this place is not a “fancy” place - the tables are small and it will probably be noisy and the server will clearly have too many tables. But the food makes up for it and honestly we like the atmosphere because we know the awesome staff. But if you are not okay with the atmosphere dont worry they also do takeout!
Willimantic Brewing Company
If you are looking for a brewery then you can look no further than Willibrew! They have a beautiful bar as well as a really cool dining room. They make all their own beer on site! This is our go-to for a local date night spot. FUN FACT: this restaurant is actually in what used to be the old post office so a lot of the dishes are named after things to do the the post! Rebekahs favorite meal here is the Central Village Stuffed Chicken Breast and this also just so happens to be where she works
