Applaud yourself - we care about you more than you could imagine! We do hope that you are able to attend the wedding. We want to share this special moment with everyone; we have been waiting 10 years to be able to have this moment after all! The date is set for Saturday, September 24, 2022. The date sounds so far away but I promise it will quickly approach. We look forward to seeing everyone there and hope that you all have as much fun at the wedding as we both did planning it! Our wedding will be completely different from any other party you have ever been to. We will include links on this page for info on the traditions of both Rebekah and Hector so that everyone knows what is going on throughout the evening. Read the posts below for info on the traditions. We will be having a mariachi band, a well balanced cultural food menu and even a late night taco truck appearance! Be ready for the funnest wedding you may ever be invited to!

The Money Dance

This is a Traditional Mexican wedding dance. Whoever wants to dance with the bride/groom come up and pin money onto the bride or groom (depending on who they want to dance with). The pins will be provided. You can pin any dollar amount to us for a dance. Each person dances with the bride/groom for a little under a half a song with the song types varying and changing so that it is not all just slow or fast songs. It is a fun custom and also ensures that we will dance with you during the evening since it is such a fun-packed night we want to ensure we can dance with everyone and this dance ensures that. We are asking that the money pinned on the bride be pinned on the veil please. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac8x7PLEWGU

La Vibora De La Mar

This is a traditional Mexican wedding dance. The bride and groom each stand on a chair in the middle of the dance floor and form an arch with their hands with room inbetween them for people to pass under. In more modern times people are using tulle to form the arch so there is more room between the bride and groom. The bridal party then stands at the base of the groom and bride holding them for support so that they do not fall off of the chair. All of the single people are called to the dance floor and told to form a chain by linking their arms together; one ladies line and one men line. The ladies snake line goes first and then the mens snake line goes. The snake lines will weave in and out of the arch that the bride and groom made all while bumping the wedding party trying to knock the bride or groom off of the chairs. The ladies try to knock down the bride and the men try to knock down the groom. This dance will follow the bouquet and garter toss and whoever catches those items are the people leading the snake lines. Typically the single people “try” to knock the groom and bride off meaning they lightly bump them - not with any real force. But if you want to really bump then you can - its all for fun! Usually there are a few people really trying to knock the groom down - its so fun to watch! If the groom stays on the chair for the whole song then he gets picked up by his groomsmen and the snake line and tossed in the air in celebration! This dance lasts 1 song. The traditions signifies that the bride and groom need to support eachother through tough times and that while they may not always be able to support eachother on their own the bridal party is also there to help supprt them. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6YZPLc6ZLPY&list=RDB_KFH8UET4U&index=2

Father Daughter Dance

This is a typical dance for American weddings where the bride and her father share one dance together on the dance floor. Typically the bride and her father will pick a slow dance but sometimes it can be upbeat; depends on what they want to dance to. Some father daughter dances even have coreography done to amp it up a little and make it more “exciting” for the guests. The song typically has meaning for both the bride and her dad.

Mother Son Dance

This is a traditional American dance between the groom and his mother. It is typically a slow song that the mother and groom will pick out together. The song should have meaning to both of them.
