1. Its an outdoor wedding - bring a light jacket and heel savers or flats 2. CASH BAR. No credit cards accepted at the venue. 3. Reception starts at 4pm; there will be a gap between ceremony and reception so people can go back to their homes/hotels to grab coats/flats.
We are going with a semi-formal feel meaning dress pants with a nice top but suits and dresses are encouraged. We understand that everyone has different tastes. Our theme is BRIGHT and VIBRANT so we are also encouraging bright and vibrant colors. The brighter and more festive the better! NO WHITE DRESSES NO IVORY DRESSES NO BLUSH DRESSES No white dresses No t-shirts No jeans
NO! This wedding will have both Mexican and American traditions. There will be a mariachi band, a money dance, father daughter dance, and tacos. It will be so much fun! On the tables we will have the traditions printed out so that everyone can follow along and understand the traditions that are happening.
Bring CASH - it is a cash bar. No credit cards are accepted. We don’t want anyone not to be aware and unable to get something due to this info. HEEL SAVERS or FLATS LIGHT JACKET The reception is being held outdoors in a tent - so we recommend bringing Heel Savers so you do not sink into the grass. We also recommend bringing a lightweight jacket in case it gets chilly towards the evening. If you want to bring comfy shoes with you such as flip flops or flats that is also encouraged!
The number of people that are invited with each invite will be clearly labeled on the rsvp card. It will state how many seats we have set aside for your party - unfortunately due to seating capacity that is your MAX number of people we can allow for your group. Please do not invite friends or extended family members that are above your reserved number of seats. Please understand that if you do not give us an accurate count of people in your RSVP that any extra people will not have a seat at the reception.
That is the ultimate question! The plan is to end at midnight but don’t be surprised if the music continues until 1am. The venue lets us go as late as we want and we rented out for Sunday as well to be on the safe side. Our events have been known to continue after the DJ leaves with a few speakers connected to a phone so be ready for a roarin’ party! We recommend bringing comfy shoes to change into! We also will have some blankets for everyone in case it gets chilly at night.
YES! The day after there will be a lunch for out-of-towners as well as padrinos/padrinas. We are taking advantage of the venue allowing us to stay Sunday and having everyone gather there on Sunday. We will be having more bbq and depending on the amount of leftovers maybe also hot dogs and burgers. Rumor has it the tavo truck will make an appearance on Sunday too! Maybe some pizza -it depends on the turnout of people. We will have lawn games we can play and will have a stereo for music as well as a bartender for drinks. It will be a laid back event with no dress code.
Good food and lots of it! We are having a mexican bbq menu. So there will be bbq basics along with some fun Mexican dishes. Definitely enough food and options to please everyone! We hope that everyone will be adventurous and try a little of everything. It will be a buffet style so each table will be called up one at a time to avoid a long line.
Yes we do! There is a section on this website that shows you what we recommend.
YES! Parking for the reception and ceremony are both on-location. The ceremony and reception are 2 different locations but at both locations parking is available for all - no car parkers here so we request that the closer spots be saved for the elderly or those that have a hard time walking. We will have some spots labeled as reserved with couples names; if you are one of those couples then you will have a special card in with your invitation. All parking is free.
We are trying to limit the number of kids that are invited - if your kids are invited it will be clear on the rsvp card by the number of reserved seats you have.
Our dinner for the wedding is going to be peanut and tree nut free. If you have an allergy besides those then please include that info in with your RSVP card on the back. We will have SEVERAL options though.
Yes we are registered with Amazon for a few select things as well as with Zola for monetary gifts to use for various house updates and a honeymoon fund.
No there is no transportation from the hotels to the ceremony. If you stay at The Graduate Hotel in Storrs the drive is only 15minutes though!
The music will be loud - the Mariachi band is a 5 person band that does get quite intense sometimes but it is so romantic and so lovely to hear! If you do not like loud music then it is understandable; we will have some earplugs available as well as Tylenol if anyone needs it due to the loud volume.
No it is not; we decided in order to keep the wedding more affordable and to be able to invite more people that we would do a CASH bar. Credit cards are not accepted at the venue.
