Travel Note
We highly recommend exploring Airbnb and VRBO rental options for your stay. There are many rentals available on the island in Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth. All are within a 15-minute drive of our venue, located at 323 Valley Rd Middletown, RI 02842. Our welcome gathering will take place on Friday, August 28th at Parlor Bar & Kitchen, located at 200 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840 (near Newport Hospital). The Broadway neighborhood is a fantastic area to stay, as it is within walking distance of many downtown Newport restaurants, shops, and bars (just 1.5 miles from the venue). This is where we will be staying! *TIP: try searching near "Easton's Beach" on Airbnb or VRBO for options closest to Kempenaar's. Many rental properties in the area are located between downtown Newport and our venue in Middletown.

Wyndham Newport (in Middletown) is also an option we would recommend, and is about a 5-minute drive from the venue. Their restaurant on site- Johnny's- is a great spot for a bite or a drink. The Atlantic Grille (best breakfast!!), Mission Burger, Clemmie’s (fave ice cream), and Island Surf & Sport are all within walking distance.

We recommend that guests fly into T.F. Green Airport (PVD) or Boston Logan International Airport. PVD is the closest airport (about 35 minutes by car), while Logan offers more flight options (about 1.5-2 hours by car).

We recommend that guests fly into T.F. Green Airport (PVD) or Boston Logan International Airport. PVD is the closest airport (about 35 minutes by car), while Logan offers more flight options (about 1.5-2 hours by car). For guests flying into Logan who prefer not to rent a car, you can take public transportation most of the way to Newport. From Logan, board the MBTA Silver Line SL1 bus to Boston’s South Station (free fare). At South Station, board the MBTA Commuter Rail Fall River/New Bedford Line and ride to either Fall River Depot or New Bedford. From there, you can take an Uber or Lyft to Newport/Middletown. We recommend checking the MBTA schedule in advance, as some trips may require a transfer and rideshare availability can vary.
